PolarDB:Manually scale up or scale down the storage capacity

You can manually scale up or scale down the storage capacity of a cluster. This topic describes how to manually scale up or scale down storage capacity.

Usage notes

  • You can manually scale up or scale down the storage capacity of an Enterprise Edition cluster. The storage billing method of the cluster must be subscription.

Impact

Manually scaling up storage capacity does not cause transient connections.

Manually scale up storage capacity

Procedure

  1. Log on to the PolarDB console.

  2. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the cluster to which you want to connect is deployed.

  3. Find the cluster and click its ID.

  4. In the Distributed Storage section of the Basic Information page, choose Change Storage Capacity > Manually Scale Up.

  5. On the Change Configurations page, select the required Storage Capacity, select the Terms of Service, and then click Buy Now.

  6. On the Purchase page, confirm the unpaid order and click Purchase.

Manually scale down storage capacity

Procedure

  1. Log on to the PolarDB console.

  2. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the cluster to which you want to connect is deployed.

  3. Find the cluster and click its ID.

  4. In the Distributed Storage section of the Basic Information page, choose Change Storage Capacity > Manually Scale In.

  5. On the Downgrade page, select the required Storage Capacity, select the Terms of Service, and then click Buy Now.

    Note

    You can set Switching Time to Switch Now or Switch At. If you select Switch At, you can specify a point in time within the next 24 hours. Your cluster is downgraded within 30 minutes after the specified point in time. On the Scheduled Tasks page, you can view the details of the task or cancel the task. For more information, see Scheduled tasks.

Reference
