Storage pricing depends on the billing method and storage type. Select a billing method from the guide section on the right to view the storage billing rules.
Subscription pricing
The following are the prices for different storage types.
The available storage types vary by edition. For details on supported storage types, see the buy page.
The performance of an ESSD AutoPL disk is the sum of its baseline performance, provisioned performance, and burst performance. The baseline performance is the same as an ESSD cloud disk at performance level 1 (PL1). For more information, see ESSD AutoPL disk. When you purchase the disk, you can configure its provisioned performance to increase its IOPS.
If your business data exceeds the purchased storage capacity, handling varies by storage type:
ESSD cloud disk: These disks do not support auto-scaling by default. Use Database Autonomy Service (DAS) to scale up their storage capacity. To prevent service interruptions from insufficient storage capacity, you can manually configure auto-scaling. For more information, see Configure automatic storage scaling for ESSD cloud disks. After you enable auto-scaling, you are pre-charged for additional capacity when trigger conditions are met. A scale-up fails if your Alibaba Cloud account has an insufficient balance.
PSL4/PSL5: These storage types scale automatically based on usage. Storage usage that exceeds your purchased capacity is charged on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Pay-as-you-go pricing

The performance of an ESSD AutoPL disk is the sum of its baseline performance, provisioned performance, and burst performance. Its baseline performance is the same as that of an ESSD cloud disk at PL1. For more information, see ESSD AutoPL disk. When you purchase the disk, you can configure provisioned performance to increase IOPS.
For an ESSD cloud disk, you must preselect a storage capacity, and you are billed per GB-hour based on this capacity. The disk itself does not support automatic storage scaling. You must use Database Autonomy Service (DAS) to expand the storage space. To prevent service disruptions caused by insufficient storage, you can configure automatic storage scaling. For more information, see Configure automatic storage scaling for ESSD cloud disks. After enabling automatic storage scaling, the system pre-charges you for the additional capacity when the scaling trigger conditions are met. The scale-up fails if your Alibaba Cloud account has an insufficient balance. When you set the storage engine to InnoDB, you can set the storage space from 20 GB to 64,000 GB by using a slider or entering a value. The system displays the maximum IOPS and a reference price based on the selected storage type and capacity.
For PSL4 and PSL5, you do not need to select a storage capacity. Storage scales automatically as your data grows, and you are billed only for the storage space you use. In the Storage section, you can set the storage type to PSL5 or PSL4 and the storage engine to InnoDB or InnoDB & high-compression engine. In Enterprise Edition read/write splitting scenarios, multiple compute nodes share a single copy of data. You do not need to select a storage capacity at purchase. You are charged hourly based on actual usage, or you can purchase a storage package at a discount.
