Subscription clusters expire at the end of their billing period. To prevent service interruption or data loss, renew your cluster before it expires. Enable auto-renewal to handle renewals automatically.
Pay-as-you-go and serverless clusters do not expire. For these cluster types, make sure your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance.
Auto-renewal
Auto-renewal charges your account and extends your cluster's subscription before it expires, based on the original subscription duration. For example, a 3-month subscription renews for 3 months each cycle.
Key behaviors:
The renewal fee is charged at 08:00, three days before the expiration date. If the charge fails, the system retries one day before expiration, on the expiration date, six days after expiration, and 14 days after expiration. Keep your account balance sufficient to avoid failed charges.
The first automatic payment is scheduled for 08:00 on the 3rd day before the cluster expires. If the payment fails, the system retries the payment one day before expiration, on the expiration date, and 6 and 14 days after expiration. Ensure that your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance.
If you manually renew before the scheduled auto-charge, the next auto-renewal date is recalculated from the new expiration date.
Auto-renewal takes effect the day after you enable it.
Enable auto-renewal
Use either of the following methods:
At purchase: Select Auto-renewal when purchasing a subscription cluster.
After purchase: Go to Expenses and Costs > Renewal. On the Manual or Nonrenewal tab, find the cluster and click Renew in the Auto-renewalEnable Manual RenewalModify Auto-renewalAuto-renewalManual RenewalAuto-renewalEnable Auto-renewalNon-renewalEnable Auto-renewalRenewActions column.
If you cannot find your cluster on these tabs, auto-renewal may already be enabled. Check the Auto tab.
Change the auto-renewal cycle
Go to Expenses and Costs > Renewal. On the Auto tab, find the cluster and click Edit Auto Renewal in the Actions column.
Disable auto-renewal
Go to Expenses and Costs > Renewal. On the Auto tab, find the cluster and click Enable Manual Renewal in the Actions column.
Manual renewal
Renew before the expiration date to maintain service continuity. If the cluster has already expired, renew it before it is released to restore service.
Use either of the following methods:
Go to the PolarDB console. On the Clusters page, find the cluster, and choose More > Renew in the Actions column.
If you cannot find your cluster, confirm that you are viewing the correct region.
Go to Expenses and Costs > Renewal. On the Manual, Auto, or Nonrenewal tab, find the cluster and click Renew in the Actions column.
