Covers billing methods, billable items, overdue payments, and renewals for PolarDB for cloud-native databases.

PolarDB for cloud-native databases uses a storage-compute decoupled architecture, so compute nodes and storage are billed separately in a PolarDB cluster.

  • Billing methods

PolarDB for cloud-native databases supports three billing methods: subscription, pay-as-you-go, and Serverless.

    • Subscription: You select fixed-specification resources and pay upfront. Longer periods offer larger discounts. Best for stable, long-term workloads.

    • Pay-as-you-go: You select fixed-specification resources and pay only for actual usage, with no upfront cost. Best for flexible workloads.

    • Serverless: A pay-as-you-go model. PolarDB automatically scales resources based on workload, with no upfront cost or specification selection. Best for fluctuating, uncertain, or unpredictable workloads.

You can switch the billing method of your PolarDB cluster at any time.

  • Billable items

Billable items for PolarDB for cloud-native databases include compute nodes, storage space, backup storage (for usage that exceeds the free quota), SQL Explorer (optional), and cold data archiving (optional). Billable items.
