PolarDB:Performance of PolarDB for MySQL 5.7 (Cluster Edition)

Last Updated:Oct 17, 2025

This topic describes the performance test results of an online transactional processing (OLTP) workload for PolarDB for MySQL 5.7 Cluster Edition.

Note

For more information, see Performance testing method (OLTP).

Dedicated specifications

Primary Node + One Read-only Node

Note

This performance test uses a policy of incrementally increasing concurrent threads. The sysbench tool is used to apply a load to the cluster. The test starts with a low concurrency of one thread and increases the number of threads exponentially, such as 8, 16, 32, 64, and 128. At each concurrency level, the test runs until key performance indicators, such as queries per second (QPS) and transactions per second (TPS), reach a stable state. To ensure data reliability, after the performance curve stabilizes, the test continues to run for an additional period. The average value from this stable period is recorded as the performance data for that concurrency level. The test stops when the average QPS and TPS no longer increase with a subsequent increase in the number of concurrent threads. The highest peak QPS and TPS values recorded across all test rounds are used as the final performance results.
