This topic provides answers to some frequently asked questions (FAQ) about delete operations in Photo and Drive Service (PDS).

How do I delete a domain?

You can delete a domain by using the PDS console or by calling an API operation. Before you delete a domain, make sure that files in the drives and recycle bin are deleted.

Method 1: Use the PDS console

  1. Log on to the PDS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Photo and Drive Service (Developer Edition) > Domains.

  3. On the Domains page, find the domain that you want to delete and click Delete in the Actions column. In the Delete Domain message, click OK.

Method 2: Call an API operation

Call the DeleteDomain operation to delete a domain.

How do I delete a user?

Method 1: Use the BasicUI console

  1. Log on to the BasicUI console.

    1. Log on to the PDS console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Photo and Drive Service (Developer Edition) > Domains.

    3. On the Domains page, find the domain that you want to manage and click Details in the Actions column.

    4. On the domain details page, click the Applications tab.

    5. In the Official Applications section, find BasicUI and click Manage in the Actions column.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane of the BasicUI console, click Team Management.

  3. On the Team Management page, select the user that you want to delete, click More above the user list, and then click Transfer And Delete or Forced Deletion.

Method 2: Call an API operation

Call the DeleteUser operation to delete a user.

Why am I unable to delete a drive?

You cannot delete a drive if the drive contains files, including files that have been uploaded and files that are being uploaded. In most cases, a drive fails to be deleted because a file is being uploaded to the drive.

Why am I unable to delete a user?

Before you delete a user, make sure that no file exists within the account of the user and no personal space is allocated to the user.

Why am I still able to find files stored in a folder after the folder is deleted?

Both the delete and copy operations on folders are asynchronous. You can use the ID of a delete or copy task to query the status of the task.

Why am I still charged fees for domains after I delete these domains?

Make sure that all domains within your Alibaba Cloud account are deleted.

In the PDS console, move your pointer over the region drop-down list in the top navigation bar to switch regions and check whether domains in all regions are deleted. After all domains are deleted, you are not charged fees.
