Platform For AI:Billing for PAI ArtLab

Last Updated:Apr 01, 2026

PAI ArtLab charges for computing power, storage, and traffic. Two billing methods are available: pay-as-you-go and resource plan (subscription). By default, pay-as-you-go applies after you activate PAI ArtLab.

Computing power

Pay-as-you-go

Pay for usage after consumption. Applies to PAI ArtLab Toolbox tools: Stable Diffusion (Exclusive/Shared) and ComfyUI (Exclusive/Shared).

Resource plan deduction > Pay-as-you-go

After resource plan is consumed, billing switches to pay-as-you-go.

Resource plan (subscription)

Purchase a discounted resource plan (savings plan) in advance. Usage is deducted from the plan first.

  • Effective date and validity: Takes effect immediately. Valid for one year.

  • Deduction rule: Usage is deducted from plan quota first. Excess usage is billed pay-as-you-go.

Storage and traffic resources

Pay-as-you-go

Pay for usage after consumption.

Resource plan (subscription)

Purchase a discounted resource plan in advance. Usage is deducted from the plan first.

  • Effective date and validity: Takes effect immediately. Valid for one year.

  • Deduction rule: Usage is deducted from plan quota first. Excess usage is billed pay-as-you-go.

Billing rules by tool edition:

  • Shared Edition: No charge for starting the tool. Charged only for actual GPU time during image generation. Costs deducted from resource plans and coupons first, then from account balance pay-as-you-go.

  • Exclusive Edition: Billing starts after tool launches successfully. Charged based on machine specification price. Costs deducted from resource plans and coupons first, then from account balance pay-as-you-go.

Shared Edition vs Exclusive Edition billing

The two tool editions have different billing triggers:

  • Shared Edition: No charge for starting the tool. Billing starts only when a GPU is actively generating images.

  • Exclusive Edition: Billing starts as soon as the tool launches successfully, and stops when you stop the service. Charged by machine specification price, billed hourly.

Costs are deducted from resource plans and coupons first, then from your account balance pay-as-you-go.

Pay-as-you-go

Under pay-as-you-go, PAI ArtLab usage incurs fees from two underlying cloud services:

Object Storage Service (OSS)

OSS handles storage and traffic billing. See the OSS Price Calculator for pricing details.

  • Storage plan: Stores datasets, models, and generated images.

  • Outbound data transfer plan: Covers costs of downloading models and datasets, and previewing model images.

  • Request resource plan: Includes 5 million write (PUT) requests and 20 million read (GET) requests free each month.

Elastic Algorithm Service (EAS)

EAS handles computing power billing. See PAI Pricing for pricing details.

  • Exclusive Edition: Billed hourly based on machine specification price. Billing starts when the service starts and stops when you stop the service.

  • Shared Edition: Billed based on actual GPU usage duration during image generation.

Actual prices are subject to your bill.

Resource plan (subscription)

A resource plan is a prepaid package purchased at a discounted rate. It takes effect immediately upon purchase and is valid for one year. Usage is deducted from the plan quota first. After the quota runs out, billing automatically switches to pay-as-you-go. Unused quota expires at the end of the validity period.

When multiple resource plans exist for the same service, the one expiring earliest is used first. If expiration dates match, one is randomly selected.

Two resource plan types are available:

  • Package: For first-time purchase. Includes computing power, storage, and traffic resources bundled together.

  • Individual resource plan: Purchase computing power, storage, or traffic resources separately.
