OpenSearch:Suspend, Resume, and Delete

Last Updated:Apr 01, 2026

Limitations

  • Before disabling a table, make sure the table has no active query or write traffic. Disabling a table with active traffic may affect your online services.

  • The last remaining table in an OpenSearch Retrieval Engine Edition instance cannot be disabled or deleted.

  • A table can only be deleted when it is in the Unused state. Disable the table first, then delete it.

Check traffic before disabling

Before you disable a table, verify that it has no active traffic:

  • Query traffic: On the Metric Monitoring page, go to the QRS section and check the QPS dashboard.

  • Write traffic: On the Metric Monitoring page, go to the searcher_rt_build section and check the addQps dashboard.

Disable or enable a table

  1. On the Table Management page, find the table you want to manage.

  2. In the Actions column, click the More icon, then select Stopped or Recover to disable or enable the table.

Delete a table

Before deleting, disable the table so that its state changes to Unused. See Disable or enable a table.

  1. On the Table Management page, find the table in the Unused state.

  2. In the Actions column, click the More icon, then select the delete option.
