Last Updated:Dec 05, 2025

Pay-as-you-go (pay-by-specification) billing methods are no longer available for new purchases. This topic describes the billing details for these methods.

Pay-as-you-go

Instance type fee

Existing pay-as-you-go (pay-by-specification) Internet NAT gateways are billed based on their instance type. These instances are available in Small, Medium, and Large instance types.

The unit price varies by instance type. The following table provides the pricing details.

  • The instance type of a NAT gateway affects its maximum connections and new connections per second. These metrics include both SNAT and DNAT connections.

  • If you require higher bandwidth, you can switch the billing method from pay-as-you-go (pay-by-specification) to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-CU).

  • In real-world scenarios, the performance of a NAT gateway is affected by multiple factors, such as the average size of network packets, connection type (persistent or short-lived connections), and network architecture. Therefore, the actual performance of an instance may differ from its expected performance. You can perform stress tests to evaluate the instance performance and configure metrics to ensure business continuity.

Switch from pay-as-you-go (pay-by-specification) to pay-as-you-go (pay-by-CU)

  1. Log on to the NAT Gateway console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the Internet NAT gateway is deployed.

  3. On the Internet NAT Gateway page, find the target NAT gateway. In the Actions column, choose 更多操作 > Convert to Pay-As-You-Go.

    Important
    • You cannot revert the billing method after you switch from pay-by-specification to pay-by-CU. Proceed with caution.

    • You cannot convert NAT Gateway instances that are in a financial lock state.

  4. On the pay-as-you-go buy page, set Billing Method to Pay By Usage, select the NAT Gateway (Pay-As-You-Go) Terms Of Service in the Terms Of Service section, and click Buy Now.
