File Storage NAS integrates with Simple Log Service (SLS) to provide the log analysis feature, which allows you to collect, query, analyze, transform, and consume NAS access logs in real time.
Assets
-
Dedicated project and Logstore
When you enable the log analysis feature, SLS creates a project named nas-Alibaba Cloud account ID-Region ID in the region of your NAS file system and a dedicated Logstore in the project.
-
General-purpose NAS file system
-
If the file system uses Network File System (NFS), the Logstore is named nas-nfs.
-
If the file system uses Server Message Block (SMB), the Logstore is named nas-smb-access-log.
-
-
Extreme NAS file system
The Logstore is named nas-extreme-nfs.
Important-
Do not delete the project or Logstore used for NAS logs. Otherwise, NAS logs cannot be sent to SLS.
-
If you have enabled the pay-by-ingested-data billing mode, SLS automatically creates a dedicated Logstore that uses pay-by-ingested-data. To switch to pay-by-feature, modify the Logstore configurations. For more information, see Modify Logstore configuration.
-
-
Dedicated dashboards
When you enable the log analysis feature, SLS automatically creates the following dashboards.
Note-
Only General-purpose NAS file systems support dedicated dashboards. Do not modify the dedicated dashboards because they may be upgraded or updated at any time.
-
You can create a custom dashboard to visualize query results. For more information, see Create a dashboard.

Billing
-
If your Logstore uses the pay-by-feature billing mode, you are charged for storage, read traffic, requests, data transformation, and data shipping after NAS logs are collected to SLS. These fees are included in your SLS bill. For more information, see Pay-by-feature billable items.
-
If your Logstore uses the pay-by-ingested-data billing mode, you are charged for ingested raw data after NAS logs are collected to SLS. These fees are included in your SLS bill. For more information, see Billable items for the pay-by-ingested-data model.
Limits
Only NAS access logs can be written to the dedicated Logstore. No limits apply to the query, analysis, and alerting features.
