Renewal of Alibaba Cloud Microservices Engine (MSE) Microservices Registry Basic Edition subscription instances was disabled at 12:00 on September 2, 2024 (UTC+8). At 12:00 on March 3, 2025 (UTC+8), the Basic Edition service is discontinued, and the resources of Microservices Registry Basic Edition instances are released.
Background information
To provide better service quality and simplify the selection of MSE Microservices Registry instance editions, MSE Microservices Registry Basic Edition instances were no longer available for purchase from July 2022. We recommend that you use Professional Edition instances or Developer Edition instances. The engine versions of Microservices Registry Basic Edition instances reached the end of iteration in the open source community and their commercial features are no longer updated. Renewal of Alibaba Cloud MSE Microservices Registry Basic Edition subscription instances was disabled at 12:00 on September 2, 2024 (UTC+8). At 12:00 on March 3, 2025 (UTC+8), the Basic Edition service is discontinued, and the resources of Microservices Registry Basic Edition instances are released.
Discontinuation time and impacts
After 12:00 on September 2, 2024 (UTC+8), Basic Edition subscription instances were immediately suspended upon expiration. You can no longer renew the instances or access the instances in the console or from the client. To request temporary access, submit a ticket. Resources and data are released 15 days after the instance is stopped. After the release, you cannot restore the instance and data. Pay-as-you-go instances are not adversely affected.
After 12:00 on March 3, 2025 (UTC+8), all Microservices Registry Basic Edition instances are stopped and released. After the release, you cannot access the stopped instances in the console or from the client. The technical support and ticket services for Basic Edition instances remain available until 12:00 on March 3, 2025 (UTC+8).
Upgrade solutions
We recommend that you use the configuration change feature to migrate a Basic Edition instance to a Professional Edition instance (multi-node instance) or a Developer Edition instance (single-node instance).
