This topic describes the billable items, billing methods, billing cycles, billing formulas, and pricing of Microservices Engine (MSE) Microservices Governance.
Billable items
You are charged for Microservices Governance based on the application processes for which agents are installed and Microservices Governance is enabled and the running durations of your application instances.
One agent can govern one application instance. Application instances may represent different objects in different environments, such as pods, Tomcat instances, or Java processes.
MSE calculates the fees for Microservices Governance based on the total duration in which all applications are connected. Bills are generated on an hourly basis.

Billing formula
Total fee = Number of agents × Unit price × Running duration
Number of agents: the number of application processes for which Microservices Governance is successfully enabled.
Running duration: You are charged on an hourly basis. If you use MSE Microservices Governance for less than 1 hour, the running duration is rounded up to 1 hour.
Billing example
For example, you have 10 application instances, use 10 agents, and enable Microservices Governance Professional Edition for your application instances. The running duration of each application instance is about 8 hours. In this example, the total fee is USD 0.64, which is calculated by using the following formula: 10 × 0.008 × 8.
