ApsaraDB for MongoDB:Upgrade audit logs to the official edition

Last Updated:Jul 17, 2026

To retain audit logs for a longer period or increase log storage capacity, upgrade from the free trial edition to the official edition.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • An ApsaraDB for MongoDB instance with audit logging enabled (free trial edition activated before January 6, 2022)

Note

Starting January 6, 2022, the pay-as-you-go audit log feature launched in all regions and new free trial applications ended. For details, see [Notice] Official launch of the pay-as-you-go audit log feature and end of free trial applications.

Notes

  • After you upgrade to the official edition, you cannot revert to the free trial edition.

  • The official edition is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis based on your log storage usage and retention period. For pricing details, see ApsaraDB for MongoDB Pricing.

Procedure

  1. Go to the replica set instances or sharded cluster instances page. At the top of the page, select the resource group and region of the target instance, and then click the instance ID.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane of the instance details page, choose Data Security > Audit Logs.

  3. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Upgrade to Official Edition.

    Note
    • After you upgrade to the official edition, you cannot revert to the free trial edition.

    • The official edition is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis according to your log storage usage and retention period. For pricing details, see ApsaraDB for MongoDB Pricing.

  4. In the Note dialog box, read the notice and click Confirm.

When the instance status changes from Audit log opening to Running, the upgrade is complete.
