To ensure a more secure and high-quality product experience, ApsaraDB for MongoDB will discontinue the sales of version 4.0 standalone instances from December 31, 2025. Impacts of discontinuation
You will no longer be able to purchase new ApsaraDB for MongoDB 4.0 standalone instances from the product purchase page.
You will not be able to create new ApsaraDB for MongoDB 4.0 standalone instances by cloning an instance or restoring an instance from the recycle bin.
You will not be able to perform operations such as switching billing methods, migrating zones, or changing configurations for existing ApsaraDB for MongoDB 4.0 standalone instances.
Alibaba Cloud will no longer provide kernel updates or new feature support for MongoDB 4.0 standalone instances.
Technical support for your existing ApsaraDB for MongoDB 4.0 standalone instances will not be affected.
Recommendations
If you are using an ApsaraDB for MongoDB 4.0 standalone instance, we strongly recommend upgrading to a higher version to avoid potential security vulnerabilities and bugs in version 4.0. See Upgrade the major version of a database.
