Mobile Platform as a Service:Quick start

Last Updated:Feb 02, 2026

This topic describes how to use the Standard Edition of Android security hardening to quickly harden an application and obtain the hardened package.

Prerequisites

  • An unhardened APK or AAB file that is 300 MB or smaller.

  • You have purchased the mobile security hardening service or are within the seven-day free trial.

Procedure

The procedure for the new security hardening toolchain is as follows:

  1. Log on to the mPaaS console and select the target application.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Security > Mobile Security Armor > Android application security hardening.

  3. In the upper-right corner, select Standard Edition to go to the Standard Edition Hardening page.

  4. Click Create Android Hardening. The Upload applications to be hardened page appears.

  5. Click Upload an application to upload an APK or AAB file.

  6. After the upload is complete, the Confirm Security Hardening Information page is displayed. Confirm the application and hardening information.

  7. (Optional) In the Add classes that require security protection section, select the important classes to harden.

  8. (Optional) In the Select the So file to be protected section, select the So files that you want to protect.

  9. (Optional) In the Select the Assets file to be protected section, select the assets to protect.

  10. Click Confirm Hardening to initiate the hardening operation.

  11. Return to the Mobile Security Armor page. A card for the corresponding hardening task is displayed. You can view the hardening progress on the card.

    • Reiforcing: The hardening task is in progress.

    • Reiforced: The hardening task is complete.

    • Failed: The hardening task failed.

  12. When the card's status is Reiforced, click Download to download the hardened package (an APK or AAB file).

Note

The hardened installation package is unsigned. Re-sign the downloaded package and publish the re-signed package to the appropriate application marketplace.

What to do next

After hardening, ensure that key components, such as the upgrade and hotpatching components, function correctly. If the package is abnormal after hardening, submit a ticket or contact mPaaS technical support.
