ApsaraDB for Memcache supports automatic backups and manual backups. ApsaraDB for Memcache also allows you to restore data to a new instance by using backup sets.
Configure a backup policy to perform automatic backups
Log on to the ApsaraDB for Memcache console. On the Instances page, find your instance.
Click the instance ID or click Manage in the Actions column to go to the instance details page.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Backup and Restoration.
In the upper right corner of the page that appears, click Backup Settings.
In the panel that appears, configure the Backup Cycle and Backup Time parameters.
NoteThe default value of the Retention Days parameter is 7. You cannot modify the value.
Click OK.
Perform manual backups
In addition to automatic backup settings, you can perform a manual backup in the console at any time.
Log on to the ApsaraDB for Memcache console. On the Instances page, find your instance.
Click the instance ID or click Manage in the Actions column to go to the instance details page.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Backup and Restoration.
In the upper right corner of the page that appears, click Create Backup.
In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
NoteIn the Backups section of the Backup and Restoration page, you can select a time range to query historical backup data. By default, backups are retained for 7 days. You can query historical backups within the last 7 days.
Restore data
ApsaraDB for Memcache provides the data restoration feature to minimize the possible loss caused by misoperations.
Log on to the ApsaraDB for Memcache console. On the Instances page, find your instance.
Click the instance ID or click Manage in the Actions column to go to the instance details page.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Backup and Restoration.
On the page that appears, click the Backup Data tab.
Find the backup file from which you want to restore data and click Restore in the Actions column.
In the dialog box that appears, click OK to restore backup data directly to the original instance. Alternatively, you can click Clone Instance to restore backup data to a new instance. After you verify that the restored data is correct, restore the data to the original instance.
NoteData restoration is highly risky. If you have sufficient time, we recommended that you use the instance cloning feature to restore backup data. The feature allows you to create a pay-as-you-go instance to which data can be restored by using a backup set. After you verify that the restored data is correct, restore the data to the original instance.
Clone an instance
You can use the instance cloning feature to restore data. The feature allows you to create a subscription or pay-as-you-go instance based on the required backup file for data restoration in the console. This significantly improves your working efficiency.
Log on to the ApsaraDB for Memcache console. On the Instances page, find your instance.
Click the instance ID or click Manage in the Actions column to go to the instance details page.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Backup and Restoration.
On the page that appears, click the Backup Data tab. Select the required backup set and click Clone Instance.
Click OK to go to the instance creation page. After you configure related parameters, click Buy Now.
NoteAfter you create the instance, you can view the new instance on the Instances page in the console.
