    ApsaraVideo Live:Add an accelerated domain name

    ApsaraVideo Live accelerates upstream stream ingest and downstream stream delivery. You must add an Ingest Domain and a Streaming Domain. The Ingest Domain connects live streams to the nearest ingest node, and the Streaming Domain accelerates content delivery. This topic describes how to add an accelerated domain name in ApsaraVideo Live.

    Prerequisites

    If you plan to stream live content in the Chinese mainland, you must obtain an ICP filing for your domain name.

    Procedure

    1. Log on to the ApsaraVideo Live console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Domain Names. The Domain Management page appears.

    3. Click Add Domain.

    4. Configure the parameters for the domain name.

      Important

      If you add a domain name to ApsaraVideo Live for the first time, you must verify your ownership of the domain name. For more information, see Verify domain name ownership.

      Description

      Domain Type

      • Streaming Domain

      • Ingest Domain

      This parameter specifies the acceleration type for the domain name. Ingest domains accelerate stream ingest, and streaming domains accelerate stream delivery. You cannot change this setting after initial configuration.

      Note

      • When adding an ingest domain, set Domain Type to Ingest Domain. When adding a streaming domain, set it to Streaming Domain.

      • You cannot use the same domain name as both an ingest domain and a streaming domain.

      Domain Name

      None

      Enter the domain name you want to accelerate. Note the following:

      • Accelerated domain names typically use subdomains, such as demo.aliyundoc.com.

      • ApsaraVideo Live does not support wildcard domain names, such as *.aliyundoc.com.

      • You cannot add the same accelerated domain name more than once. If you see the Domain name already exists message, check whether the domain name is already added to another Alibaba Cloud service, such as ApsaraVideo VOD.

      • After activating ApsaraVideo Live, each account can add up to 20 domain names. If the daily peak bandwidth across all your domain names exceeds 50 Mbps and your services are not exposed to threats, submit a ticket to request a higher limit.       • The accelerated content must be legal and comply with business specifications. For more information, see Domain name admission criteria.

      Note

      Subdomains must belong to the same account. When you add a domain name, ApsaraVideo Live checks ownership. If a subdomain is associated with a different account, the system returns an error.

      Acceleration Region

      Chinese Mainland

      • If the streamer is in the Chinese mainland, select Chinese Mainland for the ingest domain.

      • If viewers are in the Chinese mainland, select Chinese Mainland for the streaming domain.

      The domain name requires an ICP filing from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Use the Alibaba Cloud ICP Filing system to apply for an ICP filing.

      Global

      • If the streamer is in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Taiwan (China), or other countries and regions, set the ingest domain to Global.

      • If viewers are in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Taiwan (China), or other countries and regions, select Global for the streaming domain.

      The domain name requires an ICP filing from the MIIT. Use the Alibaba Cloud ICP Filing system to apply for an ICP filing.

      Outside Chinese Mainland

      • If the streamer is outside the Chinese mainland, such as in Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), or Taiwan (China), select Outside Chinese Mainland for the ingest domain.

      • If viewers are outside the Chinese mainland, such as in Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), or Taiwan (China), select Outside Chinese Mainland for the streaming domain.

      • If you select Outside Chinese Mainland and the live center is outside the Chinese mainland, the domain name does not require an ICP filing from the MIIT.

      • If you select Outside Chinese Mainland and the live center is in the Chinese mainland, the domain name requires an ICP filing from the MIIT. Use the Alibaba Cloud ICP Filing system to apply for an ICP filing.

      Note

      Live Center

      None

      The live center provides media processing services for live streams in the cloud, such as snapshotting, recording, transcoding, and cloud production.

      The region of the live center must match the region of the associated ingest and streaming domains. You cannot change this setting after initial configuration.

    5. Click Submit.

    What to do next

    After you add the ingest and streaming domains, you must configure a canonical name (CNAME) record for them. For more information, see Configure a CNAME record for a domain name.
