You must activate ApsaraVideo Live before using it. This topic describes how to activate the service and purchase resource plans.
Background information
ApsaraVideo Live is a PaaS solution for live streaming. It leverages advanced stream ingestion and distribution capabilities and supports distributed real-time transcoding. With ApsaraVideo Live, you can quickly upload your live content to the cloud and distribute it to a large audience at ultra-low latency, ensuring a high-quality and smooth viewing experience. Prerequisites
An Alibaba Cloud account is created. For more information, see Create an Alibaba Cloud account. If your business involves regions in the Chinese mainland, complete real-name verification for your account.
Activate ApsaraVideo Live
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud official website and go to the ApsaraVideo Live product page. Click Activate Now.
On the page that appears, click Activate.
On the ApsaraVideo Live buy page, select Live video traffic. For more information, see Billing of standard streaming.
Read and understand Alibaba Cloud International Website Product Terms of Service and ApsaraVideo Live Service Level Agreement, then click Activate Now.
Billing methods
ApsaraVideo Live supports the following billing methods: pay-as-you-go and subscription.
Pay-as-you-go: This billing method allows you to use ApsaraVideo Live features and pay for them afterwards. You are charged based on your actual usage of the billable items.
Subscription: You can purchase resource plans for specific billable items at preferential prices to offset the fees for the billable items.
Compared with the pay-as-you-go billing method, the subscription billing method is more cost-effective.
If your usage exceeds the capacity of the resource plans, the overages are billed based on the pay-as-you-go billing method and are included in pay-as-you-go bills. We recommend that you purchase resource plans based on the features that you need and the estimated amount of usage. For more information, see Overview.
Purchase resource plans
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud official website. In the top navigation bar, choose .
On the ApsaraVideo Live product page, click Resource Plan.
On the resource plan buy page, select a resource plan type, specify relevant specifications, and click Buy Now.
