The new Lingma IDE is an intelligent code editor built on the open-source version of VS Code. It has all the standard features of a code editor, plus extra AI features to help you code better.

• Code completion: Trained on massive amounts of high-quality open-source code data, Lingma IDE can generate code optimization suggestions based on the context of your current or related files in real time.

• Agent: Features autonomous decision-making, codebase awareness, and tool use capabilities. It also offers tools like project search, file editing, and terminal execution to complete end-to-end coding tasks.

• Multi-file edits: Use this feature when you need more granular control over the changes that Lingma IDE suggests based on your requirements and development environment. In this mode, you can provide context in each step, accept or reject the suggested edits after each turn, and get more code suggestions. This feature helps you complete coding tasks efficiently and with more control.

• AI Chat: With access to a vast knowledge base, combined with codebase awareness capabilities, Lingma IDE can answer your questions and help solve coding problems. It can also generate code suggestions, write comments, optimize code, explain code, fix problems, and troubleshoot compiling errors.

• Inline chat: Lets you converse in the code editor, so that you can modify code in a single file or ask questions instantly through natural language.

• Next Edit Suggestion: Predicts the next edits using the current code context, combined with the code changes and cursor position. This feature helps you make changes quickly by just pressing the Tab key.

Here are some additional core features:

• Context: Add rich context such as code files, directories, images, git commits, and knowledge bases when you chat in Lingma IDE. Freely combine these contexts and describe them in natural language to help understand your requirements.

• Tool use: Agent mode offers a variety of tools for programming, such as file searching, file reading, directory reading, symbol search in the project, file editing, error checking, and running commands in the terminal. It also integrates with the MCP service, allowing you to make configurations.

• Memory: Learns about you, your projects, and the problems you mention through continuous chats. Memory keeps this information organized and up to date, helping Lingma IDE better interact with and help you over time.

• AI Rules: Define your own rule prompts to help models generate code or answers that are more accurate, personalized, and project-specific.
