A security group is a virtual firewall that is used to manage the inbound and outbound traffic of specific Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances. After you add a security group to a Lindorm instance, the ECS instances in the security group can access the Lindorm instance. This topic describes how to add a security group.

Prerequisites

Before you add a security group to a Lindorm instance, the following prerequisites must be met:
  • The security group is created. For more information, see Create a security group.
  • The network type of the ECS instance must be the same as the network type of the Lindorm instance. If the network type is a virtual private cloud (VPC), the ECS instance and the Lindorm instance must be deployed in the same VPC.

Precautions

  • You can configure allowlists and security groups for a Lindorm instance at the same time. This way, the Lindorm instance can be accessed from the IP addresses in the allowlists, and ECS instances in the security groups can access the Lindorm instance.
  • You can add up to three security groups to each Lindorm instance.

Procedure

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, click Access Control.
  2. Click the Security Groups tab.
  3. Click Add Security Group.
  4. In the Add Security Group dialog box, select the security groups that you want to add to the Lindorm instance.
  5. Click OK.
