Dear Alibaba Cloud user,
To continuously improve our services and in response to customer feedback, we are extending the transition period for shared Key Management Service (KMS). After careful review, the Alibaba Cloud Product Management Committee has decided to extend the final End of Service (EOS) date for shared KMS to 00:00:00 on December 30, 2026 (UTC+8). This change helps ensure your business continuity and stability.
Core recommendations and migration advantages
Although the service period has been extended, we recommend that you plan and complete your migration soon to avoid issues when the service ends. Migrating your shared KMS resources to KMS instances provides the following advantages:
Dedicated resources and higher performance: KMS instances provide resource isolation. This avoids performance interference common in a shared environment.
Enhanced access control: KMS instances support both identity-based and resource-based policies, providing more fine-grained permission management.
Higher service level agreement (SLA): KMS instances offer an overall SLA of 99.95% and data availability of 99.9999%. They also feature comprehensive redundancy and fault tolerance mechanisms, providing superior protection for your core business.
