IPv6 Gateway:Monitoring and alerting

Last Updated:Mar 04, 2025

If you encounter issues such as Internet bandwidth throttling, you can use Cloud Monitor (CMS) to monitor the IPv6 gateway and IPv6 Internet bandwidth and generate time-series charts. You can troubleshoot issues based on the monitoring data.

View monitoring data of IPv6 gateways

  1. Log on to the IPv6 Gateway console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the IPv6 gateway is deployed.
  3. On the IPv6 Gateway page, click the ID of the desired IPv6 gateway.

  4. Click the Monitor tab to view the monitoring data of the IPv6 gateway.

You can view the monitoring data in the previous 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, or 12 hours. You can also specify a time range.

    Metric

    Description

    Outbound Bandwidth

The bandwidth that is used by the IPv6 gateway to access external networks. Unit: bit/s.

    Inbound Bandwidth

The bandwidth that is used by external networks to access the IPv6 gateway. Unit: bit/s.

    Outbound Bandwidth Usage

The ratio of the outbound bandwidth to the total bandwidth.

    Inbound Bandwidth Usage

The ratio of the inbound bandwidth to the total bandwidth.

    Inbound Packet Rate

The number of packets received by the IPv6 gateway per second. Unit: pps.

    Outbound Packet Rate

The number of packets sent by the IPv6 gateway per second. Unit: pps.

    Rate of Outbound Packets Dropped

The outbound packet loss rate when traffic throttling is triggered in the outbound direction. Unit: pps.

    Rate of Inbound Packets Dropped

The inbound packet loss rate when traffic throttling is triggered in the inbound direction. Unit: pps.

    Outbound Internet Packets Dropped

The number of packets that are dropped when the IPv6 gateway accesses external networks.

    Inbound Internet Packets Dropped

The number of packets that are dropped when external networks access the IPv6 gateway.

View monitoring data of IPv6 Internet bandwidth

  1. Log on to the IPv6 Gateway console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the IPv6 gateway is deployed.
  3. On the IPv6 Gateway page, click the ID of the desired IPv6 gateway.

  4. On the IPv6 Internet Bandwidth tab, find the IPv6 address that you want to manage and click the 监控 icon in the Monitor column to view the monitoring information.

You can view monitoring data in the previous 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, or 7 days.

Create a threshold-triggered alert rule

To ensure service stability, you can create threshold-based alert rules for your IPv6 gateways and IPv6 addresses to monitor their status and resource usage.

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Alerts > Alert Rules.

  3. On the Alert Rules page, click Create Alert Rule.

  4. On the Create Alert Rule page, select IPv6_gateway or IPv6_bandwidth, configure the alert rule, and then click Confirm. For more information, see Create an alert rule.
