IoT Platform:View migration metrics

Last Updated:Jun 06, 2023

On the Instance Migration page of the IoT Platform console, the Migration Monitoring tab displays the following metrics for the product whose data you want to migrate from a source public instance to a destination Enterprise Edition instance in real time: Devices Online, Messages Sent to IoT Platform, Messages Sent from IoT Platform, and Messages Forwarded Through Rule Engine.

Prerequisites

A migration task is created for a product. For more information, see Step 1: Create a migration task.

Background information

The metrics are displayed based on the communication protocol that is used between devices and IoT Platform. The following table describes the metrics.

Metric

Description

Devices Online

The number of devices that establish persistent connections to IoT Platform.

Messages Sent to IoT Platform

The number of messages that are sent from devices to IoT Platform.

Messages Sent from IoT Platform

The number of messages that are sent from IoT Platform to devices and servers.

Messages Forwarded Through Rules Engine

The number of messages that are forwarded by the rules engine.

The line chart of each metric displays points in time on the x-axis and the trend of data changes within a specified period of time. The data of the following items is collected:

  • The amount of data that is pending migration of the source public instance.

  • The amount of migrated data in the destination Enterprise Edition instance.

  • The total amount of data of the source public instance and the destination Enterprise Edition instance.

References

When you migrate the data of a product from a source public instance to a destination Enterprise Edition instance, the amount of business data on the instances changes. The value of a metric for the source public instance decreases and the value of a metric for the destination Enterprise Edition instance increases. If a threshold-triggered alert rule is configured for the source public instance, an alert is triggered when the value of a metric is less than the specified threshold. In this case, you can disable or modify the alert rule based on your business requirements. For more information, see Configure alert rules.
