Before you use the rules engine in IoT Platform to forward device data to another Alibaba Cloud service, make sure that the destination Alibaba Cloud service is available in the specified region and supports the format of the forwarded data. This topic describes the destination Alibaba Cloud services that are available in different regions.

Background information

By default, the public instances of IoT Platform are available in the following regions: China (Shanghai), Singapore, Japan (Tokyo), US (Silicon Valley), US (Virginia), and Germany (Frankfurt). The Enterprise Edition instances of IoT Platform are available only in the Japan (Tokyo) region.

  • For regions in which Enterprise Edition instances are available, you can view a public instance and the Enterprise Edition instances that you purchased on the Overview page in the IoT Platform console. You can click the card of the instance that you want to manage to go to the Instance Details page. The features of the instance are displayed on the page.
  • For regions in which Enterprise Edition instances are unavailable, IoT Platform does not provide the Overview page. By default, the features of a public instance are displayed in the left-side navigation pane.

This topic describes the destination Alibaba Cloud services that are available in different regions when you use the old version of the data forwarding feature. For information about how to use the new version of the data forwarding feature, see Regions.

Enterprise Edition instances

Enterprise Edition instances of IoT Platform are available only in the Japan (Tokyo) region. The following tables describe the data forwarding destinations and data formats that are supported in each region.

Important Enterprise Edition instances do not support cross-region data forwarding. For example, you can forward the data of IoT Platform instances in the Japan (Tokyo) region only to ApsaraDB RDS tables in the Japan (Tokyo) region.
