Intelligent Media Services:View channels

This topic describes each of the columns in the channel list.

Channel ID/Name

The column displays a channel ID and a channel name. The channel ID is generated by the system and is a unique identifier of a MediaLive channel. The channel name was specified when you created the channel. You can modify the channel name.

  • Click the channel ID to go to the channel details page. For a channel that has not started, in the Basic Information section, click Modify to modify the channel name.imageimage

Channel Status

The column indicates the status of a channel, including Running and Idle.image

  • When a channel is in the Running status, you can only stop the channel or view the basic information of the channel and its inputs and output groups. You cannot modify the channel name or configure the inputs and output groups of the channel.image

  • When a channel is in the Idle status, you can start the channel, view the basic information of the channel and its input and output groups, modify the channel name, and configure the inputs and output groups of the channel.image

Last Started

The column indicates the time when a channel was last started. If a channel has never been started since it was created, a hyphen (-) is displayed.image

Running Time

The column indicates how long an idle channel ran last time, or how long an active channel has been running since it was started.image

Inputs

The column indicates how many inputs are configured for a channel.

Note

A channel can have multiple inputs.

  • If you want to add an input to a channel, click the channel ID in the Channel ID/Name column or click Modify in the Actions column to go to the channel details page. In the Added Inputs section under Channel Configuration, click Add. Note that the channel must be in the Idle status.image

  • If you want to delete an input of a channel, go to the channel details page. In the Added Inputs section under Channel Configuration, click the Delete icon next to the input. Note that the channel must be in the Idle status.image

Output Groups

The column indicates how many output groups are configured for a channel.

Note

A channel can have multiple output groups.

  • If you want to add an output group to a channel, click the channel ID in the Channel ID/Name column or click Modify in the Actions column to go to the channel details page. In the Added Output Groups section under Channel Configuration, click Add. Note that the channel must be in the Idle status.image

  • If you want to delete an output group of a channel, go to the channel details page. In the Added Output Groups section under Channel Configuration, click the Delete icon next to the output group. Note that the channel must be in the Idle status.image

Actions

The column provides the buttons to start, stop, modify, and delete a channel.

  • You can click Create Channel on the Channels page to create a channel.

  • For a created channel, you can click Start, Stop, Modify, or Delete in the Actions column to start, stop, edit, or delete the channel.image

  • You can also click a channel ID in the Channel ID/Name column to go to the channel details page, and modify the inputs and output groups of the channel, the channel status, and the channel name.image

Note
  • When a channel is in the Idle status, you can start, modify, or delete the channel.

  • When a channel is in the Running status, you can only stop the channel or view the information about the channel, such as its inputs and output groups, on the channel details page.
