Intelligent Media Management:Limits

Last Updated:Jun 23, 2025

This topic describes feature availability and limits in supported regions of Intelligent Media Management (IMM).

Quotas

The following table describes the applicable quotas in IMM.

Quota

Default Value

Description

MaxUserProjectCount

100

The maximum number of projects that each user can create.

ProjectQueriesPerSecond

100

The maximum number of requests that a project can process per second, which corresponds to the maximum number of API operations that can be called per second in the project.

EngineConcurrency

100

The maximum number of tasks that a project can process per second, which corresponds to the maximum number of operators of the project that can run in parallel.

  • If the number of synchronous tasks that run in parallel exceeds this limit, the task execution time will be extended until a timeout occurs.

  • If the number of asynchronous tasks that run in parallel exceeds this limit, the tasks will be queued. This causes delayed task completion. If a task remains in the queue for longer than the specified time limit (usually dozens of seconds), the task will fail.

ProjectMaxDatasetCount

1000000000

The maximum number of datasets that a project can contain. Valid values: 1 to 1000000000.

DatasetMaxBindCount

10

The maximum number of bindings that a dataset can have. Valid values: 1 to 10.

DatasetMaxFileCount

100000000

The maximum number of files in a dataset. Valid values: 1 to 100000000.

DatasetMaxEntityCount

10000000000

The maximum number of metadata entities in each dataset.

Note

This parameter is reserved and does not actually apply a limit.

DatasetMaxRelationCount

100000000000

The maximum number of metadata relationships in each dataset.

Note

This parameter is reserved and does not actually apply a limit.

DatasetMaxTotalFileSize

90000000000000000

The maximum total file size for a dataset. If the total file size of the dataset exceeds this limit, indexes can no longer be added. Unit: bytes.

Images

  • Only JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, WebP, TIFF, and HEIC images are supported.

  • The width or height of a source image cannot exceed 30,000 pixels. The total number of pixels of a source image cannot exceed 250 million.

    • The number of pixels of an animated image, such as an animated GIF image, is calculated by multiplying its width, height, and frame count.

    • The number of pixels of a still image, such as a PNG image, is calculated by multiplying its width and height.

  • All image features, except QR code recognition, support the GIF format. Features that accept GIF files operate on the first frame of the image.

  • QR code detection allows you to detect up to five QR codes from an image.

  • When you specify WebP, TIFF, or HEIC images as the input, IMM automatically utilizes the image format conversion feature of OSS to convert and process the images by using AI-driven algorithms.

    Important

Image format conversion may incur conversion fees. For more information about billing, see Billing overview.

  • The maximum size of an input image is 20 MB. The minimum size of an input image for QR code recognition is 40 pixels × 40 pixels.

  • No limit is imposed on the number of faces in an image. By default, all faces detected from an image are returned. The time required for face detection depends on the image dimensions: the larger the image dimensions, the longer the detection time.

  • A request to process an image with large dimensions may time out. If a timeout occurs, reduce the dimensions and try again.
