Intelligent Media Management:Billing overview

Last Updated:Nov 19, 2024

This topic describes the billing methods, billing components, billable items, and other billing information of Intelligent Media Management (IMM).

Billing methods

IMM supports the pay-as-you-go (default) and subscription (resource plan) billing methods.

  • Pay-as-you-go: You are charged for the actual usage of each billable item. Fees are deducted after resources are consumed. This billing method is suitable for scenarios in which the usage of resources is difficult to predict.

Billing components

IMM service billing includes three components: request fees, data processing fees, and index storage fees.

Request fees

Request fees are generated based on the number of API requests.

Note
  • API operations that generate request fees are listed in related API operation columns of the StandardQueryL0, StandardQueryL1, and StandardQueryL2 billable items in the Billable items topic.

  • API requests that return a 4XX HTTP status code due to invalid parameters, permissions, or other settings generate request fees.

  • Requests that return a 5XX HTTP status code do not generate request fees.

  • You are separately charged for multiple requests for a file.

Data processing fees

In addition to request fees, API operations generate operator-based data processing fees for synchronous processing and asynchronous processing.

Note
  • Fees for synchronous processing are generated when a response is returned for an API operation. The fees are included in the billing cycle that covers the completion time of synchronous processing.

  • Fees for asynchronous processing are generated when asynchronous processing is completed. The fees are included in the billing cycle that covers the completion time of asynchronous processing.

  • For more information about operator-based data processing fees, see Billable items.

Index storage fees

IMM stores the results of specific processing tasks to provide data query capabilities. The processing tasks generate storage fees.

Note
  • IMM provides time-limited free data storage. The billing rules for data storage in IMM are released before data storage billing starts.

  • Storage of data that exists before data storage billing applies is billed when data storage billing starts.

Billable items

For more information about billable items, see Billable items.

Billing cycle

IMM calculates resource usage on an hourly basis and generates bills based on the actual usage. In most cases, bills are generated within 1 hour after a billing cycle ends. The time when bills are generated is determined by the system.

Billing formula

Resource usage fees are calculated on an hourly basis by using the following formula: Fees = Actual resource usage × Unit price.
