This topic describes what is DataWorks and how to use DataStudio in DataWorks to develop data on a Hologres instance.
Overview
DataWorks, based on big data compute engines such as Hologres and MaxCompute, provides you with a professional, efficient, secure, and reliable one-stop big data development and governance platform.
Hologres is deeply compatible with DataWorks, enabling you to use DataStudio in DataWorks for SQL development in a visualized manner. This provides you with standardized, barrier-free development services, along with a one-stop solution for building real-time data warehouses, and efficient, convenient management services. Additionally, by leveraging the scheduling capabilities of DataWorks, you can easily complete data processing and application.
Features
DataStudio provides a GUI for you to develop and test large amounts of data in an intelligent and efficient manner. After you associate a Hologres instance with a DataWorks workspace, you can use a Hologres node to perform data development operations such as managing SQL statements and synchronizing MaxCompute data.
Hologres nodes in DataStudio provide the following features:
Hologres SQL: You can use standard PostgreSQL for Hologres development and submit SQL scripts for scheduling to execute periodic jobs.
Synchronize the table schema with a few clicks: You can use the one-click table schema synchronization feature of DataStudio to create multiple foreign tables at a time in Hologres.
Import MaxCompute data to Hologres with a few clicks: You can use DataStudio to import MaxCompute data into Hologres and submit periodic jobs for scheduling.
The capabilities of HoloStudio have been integrated into DataStudio in DataWorks. HoloStudio has been discontinued as of February 29, 2024. You can continue to use the relevant features in DataStudio for Hologres data development. For more information, see Notice on the discontinuation of DataWorks HoloStudio.
