Auto-renewal keeps your subscription ApsaraDB for HBase instances running without manual action at each billing cycle. When enabled, the system charges your Alibaba Cloud account automatically before each expiration date, preventing service interruptions.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
A subscription ApsaraDB for HBase instance (pay-as-you-go instances never expire and do not require renewal)
Billing and retry behavior
The system attempts to deduct the renewal fee at 08:00:00 on the ninth day before your instance expires. If the deduction fails, the system retries once per day until it succeeds or until the day before expiration. Make sure your Alibaba Cloud account has enough balance, credits, or vouchers to cover the renewal fee.
If your instance expires the next day, auto-renewal is not available. Renew the instance manually instead.
If you manually renew an instance before the auto-deduction runs, the system resets the auto-renewal schedule to the new expiration date.
Coupons are accepted for auto-renewal payments.
Enable auto-renewal when creating an instance
When you create a subscription instance, select Duration and enable Auto-renewal. After the instance is created, the system renews it automatically based on the subscription type:
Monthly subscription: renewed one month at a time
Yearly subscription: renewed one year at a time
Example: If you purchase a 3-month subscription with auto-renewal, the system adds one month before each expiration.
Enable auto-renewal for a running instance
On the Renewal page, you can set a custom renewal cycle. For example, setting a 3-month renewal cycle means the system adds 3 months each time it renews.
To enable auto-renewal for one or more existing instances:
Log on to the ApsaraDB for HBase console.
In the upper-right corner, choose Expenses > Renewal Management.
On the Renewal page, select HBase Subscription for Instances, then click the Manual or Nonrenewal tab.
Enable auto-renewal:
Single instance: Find the instance, click Enable Auto Renewal in the Actions column, specify a renewal cycle in the dialog box, then click Auto Renew.
Multiple instances: Select the instances, click Enable Auto Renewal in the lower-left corner, specify a renewal cycle in the dialog box, then click Auto Renew.

On the Renewal page, you can also manage renewal settings:
