    Global Accelerator:Create and manage basic GA instances

    A basic Global Accelerator instance provides point-to-point Layer 3 (IP) acceleration over the Alibaba Cloud global network. Basic Global Accelerator instances support subscription and pay-as-you-go billing. Create and manage a basic Global Accelerator instance.

    Create a basic Global Accelerator instance

    Basic Global Accelerator instances support subscription and pay-as-you-go billing. Billing of subscription GA instances. Billing of pay-as-you-go GA instances.

    Pay-as-you-go

    Note

    The first time you use a pay-as-you-go GA instance, you must Activate the Service.

    1. Log on to the GA console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Basic Instance.

    3. On the Basic GA Instance page, click Create Basic Instance.

    4. On the Create Basic GA Instance page, set the following parameters, then click Create and complete the payment.

      Description

      Billing Method

      Select a billing method.

      Select Pay-As-You-Go for post-paid, pay-by-data-transfer bandwidth billing.Billing of pay-as-you-go GA instances.

      Bandwidth Billing Method

      Select the bandwidth billing method.

      Defaults to Pay-By-Data-Transfer. Data transfer fees are billed by Cloud Data Transfer (CDT).

      No basic bandwidth plan is required for Pay-By-Data-Transfer instances. Data transfer fees.

      Resource Group

      Select the resource group for this basic Global Accelerator instance.

      Create a resource group in Resource Management.

    5. Optional: Go to Basic Instance > Basic GA Instance to verify the basic Global Accelerator instance.

    Next steps

    After creating a pay-as-you-go basic Global Accelerator instance:

    1. Add an acceleration area and accelerated IP addresses

    2. Add an endpoint group and endpoints

    3. Associate an idle accelerated IP address with an endpoint or associate an accelerated IP address with an endpoint

    Note

    After you purchase a basic Global Accelerator instance, on the Instances page, hover over Pending Configuration for the target Global Accelerator instance to view configuration progress and the next configuration item of the Global Accelerator instance.

    Subscription

    1. Log on to the GA console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Basic Instance.

    3. On the Basic GA Instance page, click Create Basic Instance.

    4. On the Create Basic GA Instance page, set the following parameters, then click Buy Now and complete the payment.

      Billing Method

      Select a billing method.

      Select Subscription for prepaid, pay-by-bandwidth billing.Billing of subscription GA instances.

      Bandwidth Billing Method

      Select the bandwidth billing method.

      Defaults to Pay-By-Bandwidth. Bandwidth fees are billed through a bandwidth plan.

      Pay-By-Bandwidth instances require an associated basic bandwidth plan. Subscription basic bandwidth plans.

      Subscription Duration

      Select the subscription duration for the basic Global Accelerator instance.

      Select Auto-renewal. (Make sure that your account balance is sufficient.) to auto-renew the basic Global Accelerator instance.

      Resource Group

      Select the resource group for this basic Global Accelerator instance.

      Create a resource group in Resource Management.

      Coupon

      Specify whether to use a coupon.

      Defaults to Do Not Use Coupons. Select a coupon if applicable.

    5. Optional: Go to Basic Instance > Basic GA Instance to verify the basic Global Accelerator instance.

    After creating a subscription basic Global Accelerator instance:

    1. Associate a basic bandwidth plan

    2. Add an acceleration area and accelerated IP addresses

    3. Add an endpoint group and endpoints

    4. Associate an idle accelerated IP address with an endpoint or associate an accelerated IP address with an endpoint

    Rename a basic Global Accelerator instance

    1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Basic Instance.

    2. On the Basic GA Instance page, find the target basic Global Accelerator instance. Hover over the instance name and click the Edit icon.

    3. In the dialog box, modify the instance name and click OK.

    Delete a pay-as-you-go basic Global Accelerator instance

    You can delete a pay-as-you-go basic Global Accelerator instance.

    Warning

    Deleting an instance immediately releases all resources (such as accelerated IP addresses) and interrupts traffic. This action is irreversible. Migrate all necessary data before you proceed.

    1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Basic Instance.

    2. On the Basic GA Instance page, find the target basic Global Accelerator instance and click Delete Instance in the Actions column.

    3. In the Delete Instance dialog box, click OK.

    1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Basic Instance.

    2. On the Basic GA Instance page, find the target basic Global Accelerator instance. Hover over the instance name and click the Edit icon.

    3. In the dialog box, modify the instance name and click OK.

    Renew a subscription basic GA instance

    1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Basic Instance.

    2. On the Basic GA Instance page, find the target basic Global Accelerator instance and click Renew in the Actions column.

    3. On the Renew page, select a Subscription Duration, review and select the terms of service, and then click Buy Now and complete the payment.

    Replace a basic bandwidth plan

    To meet changing business needs, you can replace the basic bandwidth plan bound to a Global Accelerator instance. This replacement does not interrupt traffic.

    After the basic bandwidth plan is successfully replaced, the original basic bandwidth plan is unbound from the Global Accelerator instance, and the new basic bandwidth plan is bound to the Global Accelerator instance.

    Before replacing a plan, ensure you have purchased a new one with bandwidth greater than or equal to the total allocated bandwidth across all acceleration areas. For more information, see Purchase a basic bandwidth plan.

    1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Basic Instance.

    2. On the Basic GA Instance page, find the target basic Global Accelerator instance and click Replace Basic Bandwidth Plan in the Actions column.

    3. In the Replace Basic Bandwidth Plan dialog box, select the basic bandwidth plan to use based on the following information, and then click OK.

      • Resource Group: The Resource Group to which the replacement basic bandwidth plan belongs.

      • Bandwidth Plan to Use: Select the replacement basic bandwidth plan from the drop-down list.

        You can select only basic bandwidth plans that are in the No Instance Associated state.

    Unsubscribe from a subscription basic Global Accelerator instance

    Unsubscribe from subscription basic Global Accelerator instances. Ensure you meet the unsubscription rules and complete data migration before proceeding. Refund policies.
