Realtime Compute for Apache Flink:Renewal

Last Updated:Mar 26, 2026

Subscription workspaces have a fixed validity period. If a subscription workspace expires without renewal, it is automatically released and you may lose access to your data. Pay-as-you-go workspaces never expire and do not require renewal.

Key rules before you start:

  • Renewal applies only to subscription workspaces. Pay-as-you-go workspaces are not affected.

  • Workspaces can be renewed in monthly increments.

  • Auto-renewal deducts fees 9 days before the workspace expires.

  • If auto-renewal fails due to insufficient balance, topping up your account after the workspace expires does not trigger automatic renewal. Manually renew the workspace before it is released.

  • If your account has an overdue payment, you can still use existing subscription workspaces, but cannot purchase new workspaces or renew existing ones.

Manually renew a workspace

Before renewing, confirm that the workspace is in normal or frozen state.

  1. Log on to the Realtime Compute for Apache Flink console.

  2. Find the workspace and choose More > Renew in the Actions column.

  3. In the Renew dialog box, set the Renewal Duration. Workspaces can be renewed on a monthly basis.

  4. Read the Alibaba Cloud International Website Realtime Compute Service Level Agreement and select I have read and agree to Alibaba Cloud International Website Realtime Compute Service Level Agreement.

  5. Click OK.

  6. On the Purchase page, review the order and click Subscribe to complete the payment.

After payment, the workspace validity period is extended.

Warning

If a subscription workspace is not renewed before its validity period ends, services may be interrupted and data may be lost. For details, see Resource changes after expiration.

Enable auto-renewal

Auto-renewal deducts fees from your account balance 9 days before the workspace expires, preventing interruptions if you forget to renew manually.

You can enable auto-renewal using either of the following methods.

On the buy page (recommended)

When creating a workspace, select Enable for Auto-renewal on the purchase page. For details, see Create a workspace.

On the Renewal Management page

  1. Log on to the Realtime Compute for Apache Flink console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, choose Expenses > Renewal Management.

  3. On the Renewal page of the Billing Management console, filter workspaces by Validity Period, Instances, and Region.

  4. On the Manual tab, enable auto-renewal:

    • Single workspace: Find the workspace and click Enable Auto Renewal in the Actions column.

    • Multiple workspaces: Select the workspaces and click Enable Auto Renewal at the bottom of the list.

  5. In the Enable Auto Renewal dialog box, select an auto-renewal cycle and click Auto Renew.

The workspace moves to the Auto tab, confirming that auto-renewal is enabled.

Disable auto-renewal

If you no longer need auto-renewal after the current billing cycle, disable it before the system deducts fees for the next cycle — 9 days before expiration.

  1. Log on to the Realtime Compute for Apache Flink console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, choose Expenses > Renewal Management.

  3. On the Renewal page of the Billing Management console, filter workspaces by Validity Period, Instances, and Region.
