This topic describes the major feature changes released for Realtime Compute for Apache Flink on October 13, 2026.
This upgrade is rolled out in phases across all regions. For the rollout schedule, see the latest announcements on the right side of the Realtime Compute console page. If a new feature is unavailable, your account has not been covered by the rollout. To request an earlier upgrade, submit a ticket, and we will arrange the upgrade based on actual conditions.
Overview
This release focuses on the commercial launch of Flink AI Native Ops for intelligent O&M, the consolidated upgrade of AI diagnostics, enhanced monitoring and alerting, and new OpenAPI and Terraform capabilities, completing the closed loop of intelligent O&M from usage to billing.

AI capabilities
Commercial launch of AI Native Ops
-
Flink AI Native Ops (including the former AI Assistant and Intelligent Inspection capabilities) is officially commercialized and moves to pay-as-you-go billing. It takes effect in phases by region starting from October 13, 2026, with full-network coverage completed on October 26, completing the closed loop of AI job development and O&M across full-link scenarios. For details, see Flink AI Native Ops commercialization announcement.
-
Free trial benefits remain available: each workspace is granted a one-time free trial quota of 30 AI Assistant uses and 5 Intelligent Inspection uses (not refreshed), shared across all projects in the workspace. All capabilities can be tried without activation. After the trial quota is exhausted, activate AI Service to continue.
-
Activate AI Service: each Alibaba Cloud account is granted a free quota of 100,000 tokens per region per month (refreshed monthly). This quota is independent of and does not consume the free quota of AI Function and Flink Agents (1 million tokens per account per region per month). Usage beyond the free quota is billed by actual token consumption, with input and output priced separately. Multiple model series such as Qwen, DeepSeek, and GLM are supported, billed at tiered unit prices, with discounts applied on context cache hits. For billing details, see AI Service billing (pay-as-you-go).
-
Controllable billing with instant start and stop: deactivation is supported at the feature level and the service level. Scheduled inspection plans can be paused or stopped at any time, and AI Service can be deactivated. Billing stops immediately after deactivation.
AI intelligent diagnostics upgrade
Large-model intelligent diagnostics are consolidated into the AI diagnostics module, providing a unified diagnostics entry and enhancing the automatic locating and analysis of job issues.
Experience optimization
-
Job failure event alerts: workspaces with ARMS activated can configure job failure event alerts through CloudMonitor, improving the detection of and response to job exceptions.
-
Alert rule synchronization: workspaces with ARMS activated can view the alert rules created in ARMS in the console, providing a unified entry for alert management.
OpenAPI and Terraform
OpenAPI
-
PrivateLink expansion for OpenAPI: PrivateLink access to Flink OpenAPI adds the Singapore region, meeting the private network access requirements of overseas customers and improving access security and stability.
-
Automatic tuning OpenAPI: automatic tuning capabilities are now open through four APIs for enabling, disabling, and configuring automatic tuning and for querying tuning events. Automatic tuning can be integrated into self-managed platforms and automation workflows for batch configuration and unified management, with behavior consistent with the console.
Terraform
-
Member management: new Terraform resources and data sources for member management are added. You can create, delete, modify, and query workspace members through Terraform. Member permissions are correctly reclaimed after
terraform destroy, meeting enterprise-level IaC automation management requirements. -
SQL script files: the new
alicloud_realtime_compute_sql_fileresource supports creating and managing SQL query script files through Terraform. You can specify the owning folder, the session cluster for running scripts, and batch mode, bringing SQL script assets under unified IaC management. -
Variable management: the new
alicloud_realtime_compute_variableresource supports creating and managing variables through Terraform. Variables provide reusable values that deployments can reference, bringing variable configuration under unified IaC management. -
Auto-renewal enhancement: the
alicloud_flink_instanceresource supports full configuration of the auto-renewal parameter (auto_renew). Existing resources can add or modify the auto-renewal configuration throughterraform applywithout triggering resource recreation, reducing the risk of service interruption caused by expired subscription resources that are not renewed.
