Realtime Compute for Apache Flink:Service notices in 2022 and earlier

Last Updated:Jan 26, 2024

This topic describes the service notices of Realtime Compute for Apache Flink in 2022 and earlier, including platform upgrades and API version updates.

September 19, 2022: The API version is updated

The API version of Realtime Compute for Apache Flink is updated from V1 to V2 on September 19, 2022. By default, the new API version V2 is used. Compared with V1, V2 provides more comprehensive service capabilities, a more standardized architecture, and standard Alibaba Cloud APIs. In V2, the product model is updated based on V1. The names and usage of APIs differ from those in V1.

After the update is complete, you can call the APIs of V2 to manage the deployments that are created in V1 but you cannot call the APIs of V1 to manage the deployments that are created in V2. This limit applies regardless of whether you perform operations by only calling APIs or perform operations both by calling APIs and in the console of fully managed Flink that uses the Ververica Platform (VVP).

Note
  • This new version is updated and released from September 19, 2022 to October 27, 2022. We recommend that you update the API version at the earliest opportunity.

  • If you use the APIs of V1, you can still manage the deployments that are created by calling the APIs of V1 in the console of fully managed Flink that uses VVP after the update. However, you cannot call the APIs of V1 to manage the deployments that are created in the console of fully managed Flink that uses the VVP because the deployments are created by calling the APIs of V2 by default.

  • If you do not perform operations in the console of fully managed Flink, you can continue using the APIs of V1 after the update, and then update your API version based on your business requirements.

  • Update notice

The endpoints that are used to access ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ in specific regions are changed. For more information, see Announcement on the settings of internal TCP endpoints. If you already use the ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ connector in Realtime Compute for Apache Flink that is deployed in Ververica Runtime (VVR) of a version earlier than 3.0.1, you must update the VVR version of your Realtime Compute for Apache Flink deployment to 3.0.1 or later and change the endpoint that you specified in the deployment to the new endpoint of ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ. For more information about endpoints, see the following topics:

  • Precautions

    • The outdated endpoints of ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ are unavailable from November 2021. If you use the outdated endpoints, the stability of your business may be affected. To prevent this issue, we recommend that you update the version of your Realtime Compute for Apache Flink deployments before November 2021.

    • The product team of ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ ensured that the outdated endpoints of ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ remained available before November 2021. However, the stability of the deployments that use the outdated endpoints may be affected.

    • This update can cause the states of deployments to change. To minimize the impact of the update on your business, we recommend that you update your deployments during off-peak hours.

    • After November 1, 2021, the product team of Realtime Compute for Apache Flink no longer maintains and supports deployments that use the outdated endpoints of ApsaraMQ for RocketMQ.
