You can create an alert rule for a peering connection, a virtual border router (VBR), or an Express Connect circuit in the CloudMonitor console. If the value of a metric meets the condition of the alert rule, an alert is triggered.
Create an alert rule
Log on to the CloudMonitor console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Alert Rules page, click Create Alert Rule.
In the Create Alert Rule panel, configure the parameters that are described in the following table and click Confirm.
Parameter
Description
Product
The type of resources that you want to monitor by using CloudMonitor. Options that are related to Express Connect:
Express Connect - Physical Connections
Express Connect - VBR
Express Connect - Peering Connections
Resource Range
The resources to which the alert rule is applied.
All Resources: If you select this option, the alert rule applies to all resources of the specified cloud service within the current account.
Instances: If you select this option, the alert rule applies to the specified resources within the current account.
Rule Name
The name of the alert rule.
Rule Description
The description of the alert rule. An alert is triggered when the value of a metric meets the condition of the alert rule.
Mute For
The interval at which CloudMonitor resends alert notifications before the alert is cleared.
An alert is triggered when the condition of an alert rule is met. CloudMonitor does not resend an alert notification if the alert is triggered again within the mute period. If the alert is not cleared after the mute period ends, CloudMonitor resends alert notifications.
Effective Period
The period of time during which the alert rule is effective. CloudMonitor monitors a resource and generates alerts only if the alert rule is effective.
Alert Contact Group
The contact groups to which alert notifications are sent.
The alert notifications of the application group are sent to the alert contacts that belong to the selected alert contact groups. An alert contact group can contain one or more alert contacts.
For information about how to create an alert contact and an alert contact group, see Create an alert contact or alert contact group.
Alert Callback
The callback URL that can be accessed over the Internet. CloudMonitor sends HTTP POST requests to push alert notifications to the specified URL. You can enter only an HTTP URL. For more information about how to configure alert callback, see Use the alert callback feature to send notifications about threshold-triggered alerts.
To test the connectivity of an alert callback URL, perform the following steps:
Click Test next to the callback URL.
In the Webhook Test panel, you can check and troubleshoot the connectivity of the alert callback URL based on the returned status code and test result details.
NoteTo obtain the details of the test result, configure the Test Template Type and Language parameters and click Test.
Click Close.
NoteYou can click Advanced Settings to configure this parameter.
Auto Scaling(The corresponding scaling rule will be triggered when the alert occurs.)
If you turn on Auto Scaling, a specific scaling rule is triggered when an alert is generated. After you turn on this switch, you must specify the Region, ESS Group, and ESS Rule parameters.
For more information about how to create a scaling group, see Manage scaling groups.
For more information about how to create a scaling rule, see Manage scaling rules.
NoteYou can click Advanced Settings to configure this parameter.
Log Service(If you select Log Service, the alert information will be written to Log Service.)
If you turn on Log Service, the alert information is written to Simple Log Service when an alert is generated. After you turn on this switch, you must specify the Region, ProjectName, and Logstore parameters.
For information about how to create a project and a Logstore, see Getting Started.
NoteYou can click Advanced Settings to configure this parameter.
Method to handle alerts when no monitoring data is found
The method that is used to handle alerts if no monitoring data exists. Valid values:
Do not do anything (default)
Send alert notifications
Treated as normal
NoteYou can click Advanced Settings to configure this parameter.
Tag
The tags for the alert rule. A tag consists of a tag name and a tag value.
