You can create an alert rule for a peering connection, virtual border router (VBR), or Express Connect circuit in the CloudMonitor console. An alert is triggered when the value of a metric meets the condition of the alert rule. This topic describes how to create an alert rule in the CloudMonitor console.
Create an alert rule
- Log on to the CloudMonitor console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
- On the Alert Rules page, click Create Alert Rule.
- In the Create Alert Rule panel, set the following parameters and click OK.
Parameter Description Product Select the type of resources that you want to monitor by using CloudMonitor. Valid values for Express Connect: - Express Connect - Physical Connections
- Express Connect - VBR
- Express Connect - Peering Connections
Resource Range Specify the resources to which the alert rule is applied. - All Resources: If you select this option, the alert rule applies to all resources of the specified type within the current account.
- Instances: If you select this option, the alert rule applies to the specified resources of the specified type within the current account.
Rule Name Enter a name for the alert rule. Rule Description Specify the condition that triggers the alert rule. The alert is triggered when the value of a metric meets the condition of the alert rule. Mute For Specify the interval at which CloudMonitor resends alert notifications before the alert is cleared. An alert is triggered when the condition of an alert rule is met. CloudMonitor does not resend an alert notification if the alert is triggered again within the mute period. If the alert is not cleared after the mute period ends, CloudMonitor resends alert notifications.
Effective Period Specify the period of time during which the alert rule is effective. CloudMonitor monitors a resource and generates alerts only if the alert rule is effective. Notification Contact Select one or more contact groups to which alert notifications are sent. Notification Methods The methods that are used to send alert notifications. In this example, the Email + DingTalk (Info) option is specified.
Auto Scaling If you turn on Auto Scaling, a specific scaling rule is triggered when an alert is generated. If you turn on Auto Scaling, you need to set the Region, ESS Group, and ESS Rule parameters. - For more information, see Manage scaling groups.
- For more information, see Manage scaling rules.
Log Service If you turn on Log Service, the alert message is written to Log Service when an alert is generated. If you turn on Log Service, you need to set the Region, ProjectName, and Logstore parameters. For more information, see Getting Started.
Email Remark The additional information that you want to include in the alert notification email. Alert Callback Specify an URL that can be accessed over the Internet. CloudMonitor sends a POST request over HTTP or HTTPS to push an alert notification to this URL. For more information about how to configure alert callbacks, see Use the alert callback feature to send notifications about threshold-triggered alerts.
