Resource plans let you pre-purchase compute capacity in CU·H (Compute Unit Hours) at a discount of up to 20%. The cost is deducted directly from your pay-as-you-go bills, reducing your monthly compute spend without changing how your workloads run.
Limitations

Resource plans apply only to pay-as-you-go queues in Serverless Spark workspaces. After purchase, pay-as-you-go fees across all workspaces in the same region are deducted from the plan first.

A plan does not cover usage incurred before its purchase date.

Usage that exceeds the plan quota, or occurs after the plan expires, is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Plans cannot be renewed, upgraded, or downgraded.
Purchase a resource plan
You can purchase and stack multiple resource plans. If you hold multiple active plans, the one expiring soonest is consumed first.

Log on to the E-MapReduce console. In the left navigation pane, choose EMR Serverless > Spark.

On the Spark page, click Purchase Resource Plan.

Select Region, Resource Plan Capacity, Validity Period, and Purchase Quantity, then click Buy Now.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the purchase.
Pricing
Resource plans are available in five capacity tiers. Larger tiers carry higher discounts. The 100,000 CU·H tier comes with a 3-month validity period instead of 1 month.

If a promotion creates a price difference, the price on the purchase page prevails.

Choose a plan size
Two approaches work well depending on the data you have available: estimate from your monthly bill, or estimate from your recorded CU·H consumption. Both examples below use Singapore pricing as a reference.
Estimate from your monthly bill
Use this approach if you know your approximate monthly spend but don't have CU·H usage data.
Scenario: Your Serverless Spark workspace in Singapore costs roughly USD 2,500 per month on pay-as-you-go.

Convert your monthly cost to CU·H: USD 2,500 ÷ USD 0.067106/CU·H = 37,261 CU·H

Purchase conservatively to stay within the plan's validity period. For example, three 10,000 CU·H plans and one 5,000 CU·H plan cover 35,000 CU·H.

Go to the Resource InstancesResource Instances page in the Alibaba Cloud Management Console (under Expenses and Costs).

Set Resource Type to Resource Packages. Filter for instance names containing
emapreduce_sparkpostcu_dpto view plan status, remaining quota, and validity period. -
Click the Details tab to see deduction records.
Set quota alerts

Go to the Resource InstancesResource Instances page.

Set Resource Type to Resource Packages. On the Instances tab, click Set Remaining Quota Alert in the upper-right corner. Enter the remaining quota threshold and click OK.
After you set a quota alert, Alibaba Cloud sends a notification by internal message, email, or text message when the remaining quota drops below the threshold.
Set expiration notifications

In the top menu bar of the Alibaba Cloud Management Console, click the
icon. In the left navigation pane, choose Message Settings > Common Settings. -
On the Product Message tab, find Notifications of Product Expiration and select the notification methods and recipients.
Unsubscribe
Any unused quota expires automatically at the end of the validity period without a refund.
To unsubscribe within five days of purchase (unused plans only), go to the Unsubscription Management page (under Expenses and Costs). On the Resource Plan tab, select the plan and complete the unsubscription.
