    SmartData is the storage component of the EMR Jindo engine. It provides unified storage, caching, compute optimization, and feature extensions for all EMR compute engines. SmartData includes JindoFS, JindoTable, and a related toolset. This topic describes the new features in SmartData 3.7.x.

    JindoFS

    The following table describes the new features of JindoFS in this version.

    JindoFS supports displaying performance statisticsThis feature is supported in SmartData 3.7.2 and later versions.

    The JindoFS service collects and aggregates key metrics, such as OSS read and write throughput, cache read and write throughput, and cache usage. You can connect JindoFS to Prometheus for monitoring and visualization.

    JindoFS tiered storage supports Cold ArchiveThis feature is supported in SmartData 3.7.3 and later versions.

    The tiered storage command supports the OSS Cold Archive storage class. This helps you further reduce costs for cold data. For more information, see Tiered storage command reference.

    JindoSDK

    The following table describes the new features of the JindoSDK in this version.

    Support for accessing the Amazon S3 file systemThe JindoFS client supports the Amazon S3 file system. You can use the client to access data on Amazon S3.
    Support for the OSS PrefixLink featureThe JindoFS client supports the OSS PrefixLink feature. This feature improves Rename performance to significantly accelerate Hive jobs. This optimization is especially effective in Hive ETL scenarios.
    Support for OSS atomic RenameThis feature is available in SmartData 3.7.2 and later versions.

    The JindoFS client uses a new OSS feature to perform atomic Rename operations. This is suitable for Delta scenarios.

    JindoTable

    The following table describes the new features of JindoTable in this version.

    Archive and restore features support Cold ArchiveThis feature is supported in SmartData 3.7.2 and later versions.

    The archive and restore commands in JindoTable SDK mode support the OSS Cold Archive storage class. For more information, see JindoTable archive and restore commands in SDK mode.
