E-MapReduce:Manage health check items

Last Updated:Mar 26, 2026

E-MapReduce (EMR) continuously monitors the health of cluster nodes and services using preset health check items. When a check item detects an issue, the health status of the affected node or service changes so you can identify and address problems quickly.

Note

Health check items are available only for YARN, Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), Hive, Kafka, and ZooKeeper services.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

Manage health check items for services

  1. Log on to the EMR console. In the left-side navigation pane, click EMR on ECS.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your cluster resides and select a resource group.

  3. On the EMR on ECS page, find the target cluster and click Services in the Actions column.

  4. On the Services tab, find the target service, move the pointer over the ··· icon, and then select Manage Health Check Items. Alternatively, find the target service, click Configure, and on the Configure tab, choose More > Manage Health Check Items.

  5. In the Manage Health Check Items panel, find the target check item and click Edit in the Actions column. You can also enable or disable a health check item and modify the threshold of a health check item.
