E-MapReduce:Create a cluster based on a cluster template

Last Updated:Oct 25, 2023

You can create a cluster with simple operations based on an existing cluster template. This helps you save the time that is spent in repeatedly configuring the same configuration items. This topic describes how to create a cluster based on a cluster template.

Prerequisites

A cluster template is created. For more information, see Create a cluster template.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Manage Cluster Templates panel.

    1. Log on to the E-MapReduce (EMR) console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click EMR on ECS.

    3. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which you want to create a cluster and select a resource group based on your business requirements.

    4. On the EMR on ECS page, click Manage Cluster Templates in the upper-right corner.

  2. In the Manage Cluster Templates panel, find the desired cluster template and click Create Cluster in the Actions column.

  3. In the Create Cluster message, click OK.

    Note

If you create a subscription cluster based on a cluster template, the cluster is unpaid and is in the Starting state. You must find the cluster on the EMR on ECS page and pay for the order. Then, the cluster creation starts.

  4. On the EMR on ECS page, view the newly created cluster.

A cluster that is created based on a cluster template is named in the $Template name$+Timestamp format.
