    E-MapReduce:Switch from pay-as-you-go to subscription

    You can switch a pay-as-you-go E-MapReduce cluster, or a pay-as-you-go node group within a subscription cluster, to subscription billing to reserve resources in advance and reduce costs.

    Prerequisites

    Note

    Ensure that your account balance is sufficient to pay for the switching order.

    • The pay-as-you-go cluster that you want to switch must meet the following requirements:

      • The cluster belongs to your account.

      • The cluster does not have an unpaid switching order.

        If the cluster has an unpaid switching order, you must cancel it before starting a new one.

      • The cluster state is running.

    • The pay-as-you-go node group that you want to switch must meet the following requirements:

      • The node group is in the running state and contains at least one node.

      • No auto scaling rule is associated with the node group.

    Switch a cluster to subscription

    Switch an entire pay-as-you-go cluster to subscription billing.

    Limitations

    The cluster's billing method must be pay-as-you-go.

    Procedure

    Warning

    After you switch a cluster to subscription, you cannot switch it back to pay-as-you-go. Proceed with caution.

    1. Log on to the E-MapReduce console.

    2. In the top navigation bar, select a region and a resource group as needed.

    3. On the EMR on ECS page, find the target cluster, click the image..png icon in the Actions column, and select Switch to Subscription.

    4. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

    5. In the Switch to Subscription dialog box, configure the following parameters:

      1. Node Group Type: The master node group and core node group are automatically switched to subscription. You can choose whether to switch other node groups. Task node groups with an associated auto scaling rule cannot be switched.

      2. Subscription Duration: Select a duration in months or years.

      3. Auto-renewal: This feature is enabled by default. The instance is automatically renewed for one month, seven days before it expires. You can disable this feature manually. We recommend keeping this feature enabled to prevent service disruptions from instance expiration.

    6. Click OK.

    Switch a node group to subscription

    Switch a pay-as-you-go node group to subscription if its parent cluster already uses subscription billing.

    Limitations

    • The cluster's billing method must be subscription.

      Note

      You cannot switch an individual pay-as-you-go node group to subscription within a pay-as-you-go cluster.

    • Pay-as-you-go node groups with an associated auto scaling rule cannot be switched to subscription.

    Procedure

    Warning

    After you switch a node group to subscription, you cannot switch it back to pay-as-you-go. Proceed with caution.

    1. Navigate to the Nodes page of the cluster:

      1. Log on to the E-MapReduce console.

      2. In the top navigation bar, select a region and a resource group as needed.

      3. On the EMR on ECS page, find the target cluster and click Nodes in the Actions column.

    2. Find the target node group, click the image..png icon in the Actions column, and select Switch to Subscription.

    3. In the Switch to Subscription dialog box, configure the following parameters:

      1. Subscription Duration: Select a duration in months or years.

      2. Auto-renewal: This feature is enabled by default. The instance is automatically renewed for one month, seven days before it expires. You can disable this feature manually. We recommend keeping this feature enabled to prevent service disruptions from instance expiration.

    4. Click OK.
