Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch and Logstash clusters support the subscription and pay-as-you-go billing methods. This topic describes the details of the subscription billing method and the impact on resources after a subscription cluster expires.
Billing details
Item | Description |
Billing rule | Subscription is a billing method that allows you to use resources only after you pay for them. The subscription billing method reserves resources for you and is more cost effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method in most business scenarios. |
Use scenario | We recommend that you use the subscription billing method in the following business scenarios:
|
Billing cycle | You are billed for a subscription Elasticsearch or Logstash cluster based on its subscription duration, which is in UTC+8. The billing cycle of the cluster starts when the cluster is created or renewed and ends at 00:00:00 on the day after the expiration day. The start time is accurate to the second. Note The unit for the billing cycles of subscription resources is calendar years or months. |
Switching to pay-as-you-go | After you create a subscription Elasticsearch or Logstash cluster, you can switch the billing method of the cluster from subscription to pay-as-you-go. For more information, see Switch the billing method of a cluster from subscription to pay-as-you-go. |
Impact of cluster expiration on resources | For more information, see Impact of cluster expiration on resources. Warning If your subscription cluster expires, the system may suspend the cluster and send you a suspension notification. If you want to continue using the cluster, you must renew the cluster at the earliest opportunity to ensure service continuity. For more information, see Renew a cluster. |
Refunding | Refunding is not supported. |
Pricing | For more information about the pricing of subscription Elasticsearch and Logstash clusters, see Pricing of Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch. Impact of cluster expiration on resources
The following descriptions provide the impact on resources after a subscription cluster expires:
The system suspends your cluster and sends you a suspension notification 15 days after the cluster expires.
The system sends you notifications seven days, three days, and one day before your cluster expires.
The system releases your cluster and sends you a release notification 15 days after the cluster is suspended.
After the cluster is released, the data stored on the cluster is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
We recommend that you enable auto-renewal for your cluster or renew your cluster at the earliest opportunity to ensure service continuity. For more information, see Renew a cluster.
