WUYING Workspace:Expiration and overdue payments

Last Updated:Apr 07, 2024

This topic describes the expiration and overdue payments of cloud computers in WUYING Workspace (Pro Edition).

Terms

  • Expiration:

    • If you purchase a subscription cloud computer, the cloud computer expires when the subscription duration is reached.

    • If you purchase a pay-as-you-go cloud computer, the cloud computer does not expire and can be released anytime.

  • Overdue payment: If the total amount in your Alibaba Cloud account (including the balance and coupons) is not enough to cover the payable amount, your account has overdue payments.

Subscription cloud computers

Impacts of expiration

Subscription cloud computers are resources for which you must pay upfront. When the subscription duration is reached, the cloud computers expire. The following table describes the usage notes of expired cloud computers within specific periods of time.

Time period

Description

Within 15 days after expiration

Cloud computers are valid and can be used as expected. You cannot release the cloud computers.

Within 16 to 30 days after expiration

Cloud computers enter the Expired state. Data on the cloud computers are retained. However, you cannot perform operations on the cloud computers, such as starting, stopping, restarting, or connecting to them.

If you want to continue to use the cloud computers, renew the cloud computers at the earliest opportunity. For more information, see Renew a subscription cloud computer and Renew a cloud computer pool.

From the 31st day after expiration

Cloud computers are automatically released. Data and snapshots on the cloud computers are permanently deleted.

Warning

The system sends a notification to you in the WUYING Workspace (Pro Edition) console or by text message before cloud computers expire or are automatically released. If you do not renew your cloud computer before a grace period of 15 days elapses, the cloud computers and their data are permanently deleted. To prevent data loss or service interruption, we recommend that you renew cloud computers and back up data at your earliest opportunity.

Impacts of overdue payments

Overdue payments within your Alibaba Cloud account do not affect existing subscription cloud computers. However, you cannot perform operations that may generate fees, such as purchasing additional resources, renewing cloud computers, switching the billing method, or enabling premium bandwidth plans.

If you enable auto-renewal for subscription cloud computers and the system fails to renew the cloud computers within nine days before the expiration date, you must add funds to your Alibaba Cloud account at your earliest opportunity. Otherwise, the cloud computers are released on the 31st day after the expiration date.

Pay-as-you-go cloud computers

Impacts of expiration

You can use and pay for cloud computers afterward. If you no longer use the cloud computers, you can release them anytime.

Impacts of overdue payments

Bills of pay-as-you-go cloud computers must be settled every hour on the hour. Make sure that the amount in your Alibaba Cloud account can cover the fees. Otherwise, the system sends a notification to you by email, indicating that your account balance is insufficient.

Note

You can go to User Center to view overdue payments.

Pay-as-you-go cloud computers enter and remain in the Expired state until you settle the overdue payments. Data on the cloud computers are retained. However, you cannot perform operations on the cloud computers, such as starting, stopping, restarting, or connecting to them. If you want to continue to use the cloud computers, add funds to your Alibaba Cloud account within 30 days after the expiration date. Otherwise, the system releases the cloud computers on the 31st day and permanently deletes the data and snapshots on the cloud computers.
