Elastic Compute Service:Modify the bandwidth of an EIP

Last Updated:Apr 25, 2024

Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances in virtual private clouds (VPCs) can be associated with elastic IP addresses (EIPs) to access the Internet. This topic describes how to modify the bandwidth of an EIP to adjust the maximum bandwidth and metering method of the EIP This operation applies to both subscription and pay-as-you-go ECS instances.

Prerequisites

An instance is associated with an EIP. For more information, see Associate or disassociate an EIP.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the ECS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images > Instances.

  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs. 地域

  4. Find the instance that you want to manage and choose image.png > Upgrade/Downgrade > Modify EIP Bandwidth in the Actions column.

  5. On the Upgrade/Downgrade page, select a metering method for the EIP and specify a maximum bandwidth value.

For more information, see Switch metering methods for EIP.

  6. Select I have read and agree Elastic IP terms of Service and then click Buy Now.

    Note

If you modify only the maximum bandwidth of the EIP, the new EIP bandwidth immediately takes effect without the need to restart the instance. If you modify the metering method of the EIP, take note of the following items:

    • The new metering method takes effect at 00:00:00 the next day.

    • Before the new metering method takes effect, you cannot make other modifications, such as modifying the maximum bandwidth value.
