Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances in virtual private clouds (VPCs) can be associated with elastic IP addresses (EIPs) to access the Internet. This topic describes how to adjust the maximum bandwidth and metering method of an EIP. This topic applies to both subscription and pay-as-you-go ECS instances.
Prerequisites
An ECS instance is associated with an EIP. For information about how to associate an EIP with an ECS instance, see the Associate one or more EIPs with an instance section of the "EIPs" topic.
Procedure
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs.
Find the instance that you want to manage and choose
in the Actions column.Perform the modification operations based on the metering method of your EIP.
Modify the bandwidth of a pay-as-you-go EIP
On the Elastic IP | Upgrade/Downgrade page, configure the following parameters, read the relevant terms of service, and then click Buy Now.
Maximum Bandwidth: Specify the maximum bandwidth. You can increase or decrease the maximum bandwidth. However, you cannot set the maximum bandwidth to 0 Mbit/s.
Data Transfer: Select a metering method. You can select Pay-By-Data-Transfer or Pay-By-Bandwidth.
For more information, see Switch metering methods.
NoteIf you modify only the maximum bandwidth of the EIP, the new EIP bandwidth immediately takes effect without the need to restart the ECS instance. If you change the metering method of the EIP, take note of the following items:
The new metering method takes effect at 00:00:00 on the next day.
Before the new metering method takes effect, you cannot perform other modifications, such as modifying the maximum bandwidth.
Modify the bandwidth of a subscription EIP
On the Elastic IP (Subscription) – International Site | Upgrade/Downgrade page, adjust the bandwidth, read the relevant terms of service, and then click Buy Now.
