Edge Security Acceleration:Analytics

Last Updated:Mar 20, 2025

Edge Security Acceleration (ESA) analyzes TCP/UDP proxy logs from multiple dimensions, and presents the analytics results in graphical formats including traffic statistics, connection counts, connection durations over time, distributions by country/region, and top rankings.

Benefits

The analytics source comes from TCP/UDP proxy logs, including the client IP address, request time, request type, and response status. By analyzing these logs, ESA provides statistics such as traffic volume, connection counts, and connection duration. These give you valuable insights into the performance and security status of TCP/UDP proxied applications for informed decision-making.

With this feature, you can analyze data from the following dimensions:

  • Trend over time: the changes in metrics over time in different dimensions.

  • Real-time monitoring and alerting: monitors key metrics such as traffic and connections in real time, helping you quickly detect and handle potential security threats and performance issues.

  • Application performance: analyzes data such as traffic and connections to optimize application performance and improve user experience.

  • Geographic distribution: displays the distribution of traffic data across various countries and regions, letting you accurately identify your target market, and providing a solid foundation for optimizing local services and developing effective market strategies.

View analytics reports

  1. In the ESA console, choose Websites and click the website name you want to manage.

  2. In the left navigation pane, choose TCP/UDP > Analytics.

  3. On the Analytics page, view traffic statistics and analytics results. You can also click image to print the report on the page or click image to download the report to your local PC as a CSV file. You can use filters to filter data.

Metrics

Overview panel

The Overview panel displays all traffic transmitted between ESA and clients, including the amount of data that passes through ESA POPs. This helps you better analyze historical traffic trends.

image

  • Inbound Traffic: the total amount of traffic transmitted from clients to ESA POPs.

  • Outbound Traffic: the total amount of traffic that passes through ESA POPs to clients.

  • Maximum Concurrent Connections: the maximum number of connections established between clients and ESA at the transport layer within the specified time range.

    Note

All percentages reflect period-on-period changes (between the selected time range and the last time range).

Country/region panel

This is an interactive map that shows the number of requests by country or region.

Top data panels

The TCP/UDP proxy analytics feature provides comprehensive Layer-4 traffic profiles and user behavior insights from multiple dimensions, such as the host, client IP address, and client ISP. Select a time range to view the detailed data from these dimensions.

Note

By default, the top five data records are displayed. You can click More to view more information.
