This topic describes how to edit, disable, or delete a load balancer.
Edit a load balancer
You can edit a load balancer to modify settings such as the origin pool, traffic steering policy, and probe protocol type.
In the ESA console, choose Websites. In the Website column, click the target website.
In the left navigation pane, choose .
On the Load Balancing page, find the load balancer that you want to modify and click Edit.

Enable and disable a load balancer
During system maintenance or software upgrades, you can disable a load balancer to prevent new requests from being sent to the server under maintenance. This helps avoid potential data loss or service interruptions. After the upgrade is complete, you can enable the load balancer to resume service.
In the ESA console, choose Websites. In the Website column, click the target website.
In the left navigation pane, choose .
On the Load Balancing page, find the load balancer and click its switch to enable or disable it.

Delete a load balancer
You can delete a load balancer if it is no longer needed.
Each load balancer is identified by its hostname. By default, an LB DNS record is automatically created for the specified hostname when you create a load balancer.
You cannot delete a load balancer that is referenced by a DNS record. You must delete the DNS record first.
In the ESA console, choose Websites. In the Website column, click the target website.
In the left navigation pane, choose .
On the Load Balancing page, find the load balancer that you want to delete and click Delete.

Follow the on-screen instructions to delete the load balancer.
Remove origin pools referenced by a load balancer
In the ESA console, choose Websites. In the Website column, click the target website.
In the left navigation pane, choose .
On the Load Balancing page, find the load balancer that you want to modify and click Edit.

On the Edit Load Balancer page, delete the origin pools that you no longer need.
