    Edge Security Acceleration:IP geolocation

    After you add your website to ESA, use IP geolocation to check whether client requests are routed to an ESA node IP address and verify that acceleration is effective.

    Use cases

    Use the IP geolocation tool in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: After configuring ESA, check whether client requests reach an Alibaba Cloud ESA node IP address to verify successful integration.

    • Scenario 2: When a page access error occurs, check whether the IP address belongs to an Alibaba Cloud ESA node to troubleshoot the issue.

    Procedure

    1. Log on to the ESA console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Tools > IP Geolocation.

    2. On the IP Geolocation page, enter the IP address in the text box and click Check.

      Note

      Both IPv4 and IPv6 are supported. You can check up to 20 addresses at a time, separated by commas (,).

    3. The Check Result section shows whether the IP address belongs to an ESA POP.

      Note

      • IP geolocation checks the IP address that clients connect to, not the origin server IP address.

      • If the IP address belongs to an Alibaba Cloud ESA POP, include the ESA POP IP address when submitting a ticket for faster resolution. If the IP address does not belong to an Alibaba Cloud ESA POP, the issue is likely an ISP network problem. Contact your ISP for assistance.
