After you enable version management for a website, ESA dynamically separates website configurations into versions and global configurations based on the version's feature set.
Create a version
After you enable version management, the platform automatically creates Version 0 for the website.
You cannot create a version directly. Create a version by cloning an existing one. The new version number is automatically assigned by incrementing the highest existing version number by one.
In the ESA console, select Websites, and in the Website column, click the target website.
In the navigation pane on the left, select Version Management, click the Versions tab, and in the Actions column, click Clone.
Modify version configurations
In the ESA console, select Websites, and in the Website column, click the target website.
In the navigation pane on the left, select Version Management and click the Versions tab. Select the version that you want to modify, click Select, and then modify its configuration items.

Compare versions
In the ESA console, select Websites, and in the Website column, click the target website.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
On the Compare Version page, select the versions you want to compare, and click Compare.
NoteOn the version list page, select multiple versions to compare their configurations. This lets you quickly identify the differences between them.
Delete a version
Before you delete a version, make sure that it is not deployed to any environment.
A deleted version cannot be recovered.
In the ESA console, select Websites, and in the Website column, click the target website.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose , find the version that you want to delete, and click Delete.
View metrics
After you switch traffic to an environment that uses a specific version, you can view metrics to analyze traffic and check log directories. The data is automatically filtered to show only information for that version.
In the ESA console, select Websites, and in the Website column, click the target website.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose , find the relevant version, and click View Metrics.
