If the edition of your Enterprise Distributed Application Service (EDAS) instances or the number of application instances cannot meet your requirements, you can change the instance specifications or edition. This topic describes how to upgrade and downgrade the instance specifications or edition.
Upgrade instance specifications or editions
The upgrade of instance specifications or editions is applicable to the following scenarios:
- Upgrade instance specifications. The edition of your EDAS service is Standard, Professional or Platinum, the billing method is subscription, and you want to increase the maximum number of application instances that are supported by EDAS. For example, you want to increase the maximum number of application instances supported by EDAS from 200 to 300.
- Upgrade EDAS editions. The billing method of your EDAS service is subscription, and you want to upgrade the edition from Standard to Professional or Platinum, or from Professional to Platinum.
- Log on to the EDAS console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Overview.
- In the upper-right corner of the Overview page, click Upgrade.
- On the Upgrade/Downgrade page that appears, check the current specifications and specify Edition and Number of Application Instances in the configuration change section.
Note When you upgrade instance specifications or editions, you cannot change the billing method.
- Read and select EDAS (Subscription) Terms of Service, confirm the amount that you must pay, and then click Buy Now.
- On the Purchase page, confirm the order information and click Subscribe.
The message Congratulations. Your payment is completed. is displayed. This indicates that the upgrade process is complete.
Downgrade instance specifications or editions
The downgrade of instance specifications or editions is applicable to the following scenarios:
- Downgrade instance specifications. The edition of your EDAS service is Standard, Professional or Platinum, the billing method is subscription, and you want to reduce the maximum number of application instances that are supported by EDAS. For example, you want to reduce the maximum number of application instances supported by EDAS from 300 to 200.
- Downgrade EDAS editions. The billing method of your EDAS service is subscription, and you want to downgrade the edition of your EDAS service from Platinum to Professional or Standard, or from Professional to Standard.
- Log on to the EDAS console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Overview.
- In the upper-right corner of the Overview page, click Downgrade.
- On the Downgrade page, check the current specifications and specify Edition and Number of Application Instances based on your business requirements.
- Read and select EDAS (Subscription) Terms of Service and then click Buy Now.
The message Congratulations. Your payment is completed. is displayed. This indicates that the downgrade process is complete.
Note
- After the edition is downgraded, some of the original features may become unavailable. For information about the differences in features, see Editions.
- After the number of application instances is decreased, the normal operation of the original service is not affected, and instances exceeding the purchased number are charged with the pay-as-you-go billing method.
- The system automatically calculates the price difference before and after the downgrade. If a refund is involved, the system will automatically return the refund to your account. You can view the price difference in Expenses.
