Enterprise Distributed Application Service (EDAS) will be updated on the Alibaba Cloud International site (alibabacloud.com) from 20:00 to 22:00 on December 6, 2022, UTC+8. During the update, you can normally use the EDAS console, and existing applications normally run. Feel free to use EDAS.

New features

  • CNKIT: Cloud Native Kit (CNKIT) is a development efficiency enhancement tool designed by the R&D team of EDAS for cloud-native application architectures. It provides a webshell for displaying command execution details, direct deployment of application packages, application deployment by using a plug-in, remote debugging, and Arthas integration. This tool can improve efficiency in the stages of development, testing, debugging, and diagnostics. For more information about CNKIT, see Overview of Cloud Native Kit.
  • API quick access: EDAS allows you to quickly access cloud resources (LBs, Kubernetes Ingresses, hosts, and application nodes) without the need to bind a load balancer (LB) or an elastic IP address (EIP). This improves the efficiency of online debugging of application programming interfaces (APIs), problem reproduction, and troubleshooting. For more information, see API quick access.

Optimized features

  • Optimized menu layout: As EDAS features continue to enrich, the number of level-1 menus is increasing. To provide you with a better experience, EDAS optimizes and adjusts the original menu structure. The adjusted structure highlights the Application Management and Traffic Management menus.
    • The Applications, Application Templates, Multi-cluster Applications, and Microservice Configurations menus are included in Application Management.
    • The Microservices Governance and Application Routing menus are included in Traffic Management.
  • Resource search: This feature allows you to access an application by using its IP address. You can also search for a resource based on the ID, name, IP address, or tag of the resource, and jump to the resource details page with one click. This greatly improves O&M efficiency. For more information, see Search for a resource.
