The Specifications Recommendations feature recommends optimal computing resources and scale for your business. This topic shows you how to get Elastic Compute Service (ECS) resource recommendations based on your physical machine specifications or total computing power requirements.
Get recommendations by physical machine specifications
The Data Center Migration feature helps you plan your migration from an on-premises data center to the cloud. Before you migrate, you can enter the configuration of your on-premises physical machines, including the CPU model, number of CPUs, and memory size. The tool then recommends corresponding ECS resources, helping you plan capacity for your migration.
In the upper-left corner of the page, select a region and resource group.
-
In the left-side navigation pane of the Resource Advisor page, choose Advanced Resource Planning > Specifications Recommendations.
-
On the Data Center Migration tab, select a region, enter the physical machine configuration parameters, and then click OK.
The parameters include:
-
CPU Model
-
Physical Cores per CPU
-
CPUs per Physical Machine
-
Memory Size per Physical Machine
-
Physical Machines
-
-
In the Translated Demand section, view the recommended resource plans and their prices.
Based on your requirements, click Buy Resources or Reserve Resources.

Get recommendations by computing power
The Computing Power Conversion feature recommends ECS resources that match your computing power requirements. Use these recommendations to plan future resource purchases.
In the upper-left corner of the page, select a region and resource group.
-
In the left-side navigation pane of the Resource Advisor page, choose Advanced Resource Planning > Specifications Recommendations.
-
Click the Computing Power Required tab, enter your computing power requirements (including region, number of vCPU cores, and memory), and then click OK.
-
In the Translated Demand section, view the recommended resource plans and their prices.
Based on your requirements, click Buy Resources or Reserve Resources.
After you select a resource plan and click OK, the Translated Demand section displays the Estimated pay-as-you-go cost per core-hour and the Estimated total monthly subscription cost.
